The narrator is completely wrong for this character and unfortunately she sticks around for the first 3 books. Mac, the lead character, is annoying in..Show More » the beginning but really transforms into someone much more interesting. The real disappointment in this narrators representation of the story is Barrons, which she makes sound like an 80 year old man. Any chemistry that happens between Mac and Barrons comes across a little creepy, instead of hot. That being said, stick with the story. Read the first 3 if you can't handle this narrator but be sure to listen to Dreamfever and Shadowfever. You will be blown away by the 2 narrators and the way they interpret the story.
I have to agree with many other reviewers here as to the narrator. She sounds much too old to be MacKayla Lane and what she does to Jericho Barrons i..Show More »s rather unforgiveable. He is described as a large and very vibrant man but she makes him sound like a tiny withered old man. I really wish these would be re-done with other narrators and am looking forward to the final two books where the narrators are different.
Thats all I can say about this 3rd installment in the Fever books. I love this series. A little romance but mainly suspense and intrigue. Many more..Show More » questions were answered in this book but not enough and I suppose my only complaint would be the major cliff hanger at the end. Now I will have to wait for the fourth book to be published hopefully sometime in 2009 to find out what happens to Mac (and others). It will be a long wait!
While I am a huge Karen Marie Moning fan, her fever series is a bit odd. I don't mind that so much, but she is dragging it out so long that I have sin..Show More »ce lost interest. By the time you get to this book, your ready for it to be over, but wait, there's more. Really? Can't we just move on to another series already? While loosely connected to her Highlander series, this is far removed as it gets from those books. If your really into fantasy romance than you will probably like this series.
PS. love Phil Gigante.......he is to ears, what porn is to eyes.
Wow! This was a great ending to an OK series. Unfortunately, I would suggest reading all 4 previous books before starting this one. (Which is a huge l..Show More »istening investment). Don't get me wrong I liked the entire series but at times it did drag on. If you like Paranormal Romance then this book (series) is for you. Although I found the entire series a little light on the romance part. I loved the narration but my opinion is definitely biased (Natalie and Phil are my favorite)
I loved Dani from the Fever Series (she cracks me up!) And this story did not disappoint. I mistakenly thought this was going to be a YA book - thank ..Show More »goodness it wasn't! Don't get me wrong, I love YA books but I think the direction KMM is going with this character is best kept outside YA genre. This book was way beyond my expectations. After Shadowfever I didn't think there were anymore stories to be told. Glad I was wrong! I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will just say get this book if you loved the Fever Series. As always, Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross are amazing!!!
I loved Iced and couldn't wait for Burned to finally get released. I should have figured something was up when the release date was pushed by several..Show More » agonizing months. As much as I love Mac, Barons and the entire Fever series I was really looking forward to hearing more from Dani - not Mac (or 6 other POVs). It was a huge let down not to get inside Dani's head again for this one. Even though I enjoyed the overall experience of listening to the book (thanks to Phil and Natalie) I could have left this one off the "must listen to" list. Mega disappointment.
