This is a great lead in to the entire series. I just wish it could be longer because it is so sweet, funny, and nicely narrated. The characters, both ..Show More »protagonists and antagonists are enjoyable both for their quirkiness, snootiness, and precociousness. This is the third time....? I have listened to it. :)
As a historical romance lover I've listened to A LOT of books from this genre and it's rare but I just didn't feel the romance at all.
I thi..Show More »nk this will be the last SM book that I'll listen to as I disliked the heroine's attitude which was always moaning about everything and constantly comparing the hero to her Rake of a father which he didn't deserve, it was a bland, amateur, roll-your-eyes, dull romance listen that left out completely the wedding etc which should have been the best bit - or even an epilogue telling of children etc.
I didn't like the narrator which may have made a slight difference.
Worth a credit? Unfortunately, this was one I wasted - so NO.
Abby Craden did a wonderful job interpreting each character. Many female narrators voices are , what I call, 'chipmunk' quality. While this can be fi..Show More »ne for debutante, a six foot plus hunk of a duke loses his appeal. We've waited to read Ash's story and you won't be disappointed EXCEPT this is not Whispersync so you cannot listen and read at the same time...BOO! Why not Whispersync ALL and save us the hassle. I fall asleep and it is darned inconvenient to have the narration at one point and the last page read elsewhere. Readers, you are going to enjoy this series. It has some fun twists and loveable characters.
