The little behind-the-storybook scenes, such as what really happened to Sleeping Beauty, added texture to the story rather than distracting from it. Not a sweet story, and everybody doesn't live happily forever after, but I highly recommend it. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Adventure, love, greed, honor, suspense, and wonder are just some of the ways to describe this book. The mirror world books are classics that I will keep forever and do not tire of listening to over and over. I am listening to the first two books again before moving on to the third and I cannot wait to dive into the next adventure! Will Jacob finally find his father? Will he be called upon to return the favor he owes? I am very excited to find out the answers to these questions and more.
