The second book we continue with the lovely and shy Laura she end's up in the village like a good little lesbian and drama ensues ,We meet Jack Mann ..Show More »and fall head over heels for him but he's gay so what you gotta do ,we are also introduced to the infamous Beebo Brinker ,Ann Bannon the writer intro's all her story's and I have found myself looking forward to them , she wrote these stories in the Fifties and the time's can be hard to get your head around but that just made me love it even more.

written in the fifties with fifties values these stories and this one in particular reflect this ,I love these books and I thank Ann Bannon ,and the Narrator she is amazing.

If you where exhausted by the third book keep hanging on I am assuming you have read the others and will just get down do brass tack's ,Beth is fed u..Show More »p with her life and is on the search for the girl she left at the station , there's not mush else to say if you liked the others you will like this one . It all come's to a very dramatic end big shocker ,again hat's off to Ann Bannon for having the courage to follow her own heart like all of her charters in these brilliant blasts of the past.

This is a prequel and I stupidly read it first not knowing but what can you do ,if you read the other books first you would all ready be introduced to..Show More » Miss Brinker but if like me you go here first this introduces you to a young lesbian running away from her past and into the Village a Lesbo Mecca there she meet's the great Jack Mann a Homosexual who take's her in and teaches her about her new world .
This was written in the fifty's it's not just set there, the language and the opinions reflect that fact something of which I found quite fascinating ,Ann Bannon the writer give's an intro and I enjoyed that as much as the book it's self ,also I would like to give a nod to the narrator outstanding.
