In this installment, we learn more about the influence of preternaturals; Professor Lyall continues to suffer in silence, and Major Channing Channing of the Chesterfield Channings makes quite an impression. While I know cliffhangers are frustrating, the cliffhanger in Changeless does not detract from the fact that this is a wonderful book and a phenomenal series. But to truly enjoy this series, it is important to read or listen to the books in order. So, catch-up, because Heartless, the fourth book, is coming out on July 1, 2011. As always, Emily Gray is brilliant!

In this installment, Alexia is on a mission to prove her husband wrong. ..Show More »To accomplish this task, she rallies the old protectorate, but adds some new faces as well. Madame LeFoux moves to the forefront of this book, and I do not know why. She really is a hindrance to Alexia???s survival rather than an aid, but Ivy is as solid a friend as one could ever hope for. Major Channing Channing of the Chesterfield Channings returns and we get to see a new side of him. Floote is as faithful as always with more skills than previously assumed. Professor Lyall lives the thankless but competent existence of an extraordinary Beta. In the end, Alexia gets what she really wants and we learn more about her father in the process. All in all, this is an excellent book that resolves the Changeless cliffhanger. Emily Gray is perfect for this book, and I cannot wait for Heartless. It is important to note that you really cannot enjoy the books in this series out of order.

The fun is BACK. I think it is the best book in this series. It was a very quick ride all the way through. The last chase scene in London and to Lord ..Show More »Maccon's castle was exciting and reminded me of Testujin 28go a Japanese classic animation.

I also loved the part where Lord Maccon tried help and shield poor Biffy to adjust to werewolf life. One of the funniest scene is when he tries to explain to Alexia why Prof.Lyall cannot be Biffy's lover, "he's too beta." Fortunately for me this made sense, but for Alexia it did not. I don't think she ever understood. LOL

I was also happy to see a lot of Lord Akeldama and enjoyed his overly dramatic words and acts. I was also impressed with Lord Akeldama's intricate and complex scheme from the beginning to the end. What political savvy! Well done.

As for the baby wow what a XXX!

Now I can look forward for more with anticipation!

I don't usually go for the "steam-punk" genre but this series is really great. I waited until I had finished the series before writing my review just..Show More » in case I didn't like it but I do. I thought this series was very well written and all of the characters are well rounded and engaging. Alexia, Conal and crew are wonderful. I truly enjoyed how all of the characters grew as the series progressed. I'm not going to give anything away but I really wanted Ms. Carriger to know she is doing a great job!
