The main character is a teen-ager, but the book held this grandmother's interest every step of the way. My only complaint is that it didn't really re..Show More »solve anything at the end. Most books that have sequels usually sort of tie things up, so that each book can stand alone. This was more like part one of a single book. It actually ended right in the middle of a situation, just leaving the reader hanging. I felt as if I'd bought a book and suddenly discovered someone had torn out the last few chapters. Or, as if I was watching a movie on tv and the power went off, leaving me frustrated that I didn't know how it ended. Having said all that, I will definitely be buying the sequels. I just hate that it's going to cost two credits to basically listen to one book. Or maybe three credits, depending on how the second book ends.
I enjoyed this installment in the series; the characters are fun and the banter between the group of friends trying to help the main character, Charli..Show More »e West, is entertaining. West's reflections on his situation are also great. I do wish more would get resolved in each book but they are engrossing in that things are constantly happening. Also, at the end of this one you do feel that the overall plot of this series is starting to take shape.
I enjoyed the series and listened to all four of the books. It was action packed from start to finish and something exciting happened constantly. I d..Show More »o think it got to be a bit much over time. Noone would survivie that much and catch so many lucky breaks to get out of such tough spots. Still it was a lot of fun; I do think it would have been better as a three book series so it would not have gotten so far fetched.
