I had to slow the recorder down in order to listen to the book at all. Even slowing it down didn't change the voice, which was a terrible narration vo..Show More »ice and didn't change between characters. The good news is that the story is so intriguing and there's so much suspense that I listened to the entire book in spite of the narrator. I would have given this book a five based on the story, how tightly written it is with no drag time, except for the narrator and that the book leave the listener dangling, which I didn't appreciate. I had to come back to Audible to download the second book in this series just to find out what happens.
I have read LEFT TO DIE in hard cover and could hardly wait for the sequel to come out, this book didnot dissappoint me....i love this book, the reader..Show More » is great and i couldnt stop listening!
Some have complained about the narrator. It is the same as the first couple of books. He may not be what you're expecting but I believe he does a goo..Show More »d job. I am not distracted from the story by the narrator. The story is engaging and keeps you going. It may not become a classic but it is a good read.
The serial murderer is an ice statue artist who puts real women inside the ice and then poses them in public places. This narrator is quite good. ..Show More »> Recommended for those who like dark detective thrillers.
I have always enjoyed this series and I suppose I did this time with some minor reservations. It dragged in parts and could have done with some clever..Show More » editing. I think I probably enjoyed the storyline behind the main plot - which describes the private lives of both Pescoli and Alverez, the two main detective characters - more than the actual plot surrounding the killer which did not raise my pulse rate at all. The narrator performed the story well however the volume of her voice fluctuated between breathy and barely audible to normal and proved frustrating at times. All in all, I'd rate this book as an average thriller and 3/5 stars I gave it reflects this.
Another great story by Lisa Jackson. Only criticism that I have is when narrator is in the Alverez character her accent is Irish sounding and Hispanic..Show More ». I would think Alvarez would be a Latina.
