I'm not even half way through the audiobook A Hunger Like No Other and I felt compelled to write a review. In this first book in the Immortals After Dark series, many characters are introduced and most are female. This could be a challenge for a male narrator but Petkoff does not disappoint. Each female character I've heard so far is recognizable and distinct. And his characterization of the male lead Lachlain is spot on; his Scottish brogue is smooth and sexy. Timing and pacing is excellent. Petkoff is an accomplished narrator, but this appears to be his first step into the Romance genre. I hope he continues to narrate this series.

I???m so glad I got a chance to re-visit one of my favorite books in the series, and the one that clinched my fondness for IAD.
Have I mentioned..Show More » how much I love a perfectly timed romance? Yes, I love, love that, because that means we get sexual tension.. And I luuuuve sexual tension, and with the scorching hot chemistry between Sebastian and Kaderin we get plenty of it.
Kaderin the Cold Hearted Valkyrie, finds herself in a vast dilemma; unable to feel any emotions for the past thousand years, now has to contend with her attraction to the very vampire she???s intending to kill, plus the fact that she can???t forget that a dead leach like

For Sebastian is the chance to help her fated bride achieved the victory, and in the process win her heart.
As the competition heats up, so does their romance; and we get one hell of a hot, steamy and perfectly developed romance.
I know a lot fans of the genre have already enjoyed this series, but if you are one of the few that has not, don???t miss out on the opportunity to discover why Kresley Cole is so highly regarded. This is the book where Ms. Cole???s talent begins to shine, with perfectly balanced heroes, heroines that don???t take crap from nobody, and are some of the strongest, funniest and entertaining little biaches in the paranormal realm.

Narration:
Once again Robert Pefkoff takes the novel to a higher level.
I love the way he reads these books, I know that his female voices could be better, actually, I wish they would have two different narrators, and frankly, I always have a hard time with male narrators and their female voices, but the way Robert brings the story to life with the perfect pace, ambiance and the right amount of drama, in my opinion, makes up for the not so perfect but tolerable female voices.
I???m more likely to forgive and overlook a flawed female voice from a male narrator, than bad male voice from a female narrator, and no, I???m not being sexist, it???s just the nature of the genre, these guys are often described as having the best male attributes (in every sense of the word) and their voices are a big part of the fantasy. It???s as simple as that.

This is poor Bowen's story, a Lychae who has lost his mate and suffered for ages. Fans of the series might remember him from his big role in Hunger Li..Show More »ke No Other; he also appears and fights dirty in No Rest for the Wicked, fighting for the chance to bring his mate back.

This story takes place after the game ends, and Bowen must deal with the aftermath of some bad decisions during the race... He must help rescue the young Witch to whom he has a strange attraction. He too needs her help in removing the curse he is under.

This story is brilliant, very unexpected, and of course, it's full of tension, attraction, and passion. Robert Petkoff's performance is OUTSTANDING! He is undeniably in the top 3 Male Narrators I've come across!

Very highly recommended. Doesn't get better than this.

Wow - couldn't stop listening to this fantastic continuation to a great paranormal romance series.

Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Ghosts and ..Show More »many many more creatures inhabit the world that K.C has created and that R.P. narrates with his magic voices that bring each character to life. It's a tense roller coaster ride for your emotions as the plot throws one twist after another.

Worth a credit? Oh YES and then some - keep em coming Ms. Cole.

Join C..Show More »adeon who's a slob of a mercenary demon Prince - but who is also soooo loveable, funny, handsome and thoughtful, and his mate Holly (a geeky math teacher with OCD) as the battles starts.

He battles his desires, his mating urges, his enemies but most of all HOLLY as the road trip from Hell is taken by the two bickering lovers. It's a fun filled, laugh out loud journey but it has it's touching, tender and sexy moments too. There's characters from past books who weave their way into this imaginative tale by a very creative storyteller.

This was written in 2008 so, on behalf of all KC fans we want to know WHERE'S THE REST??? Kiss of a Demon King is next (Rydstrom's story) and there's 6 after that.

Robert Petkoff - you're the best and I'm sure there could be a fan club just for you.

Kresley Cole really hits her stride when she writes the two stories about the Woede. Robert Petkoff is genius with the British and Australian accents..Show More ». He narrated Josh Bazell's book and you cannot imagine the range until you hear the difference. This story has such great chemistry between the two protagonists. It just makes me want more. Even though I own the books in print I had to get the audio and wow I cannot believe the price. Amazes me that books I hate cost twice as much. Well done whoever decides this.

This book was amazing! One of the best books I ever heard/read. The narrator is the best male narrator on Audible (and I've listened to a lot of books..Show More »). One thing though... why would you tempt us with such awesome stories by only publishing books 1 and 12 on audible (where are books 2-11).
