This is book 1 of SD's Regency series and I only hope Audible will continue to give us more from this brilliant and very talented author as this had e..Show More »verything a historical romance lover looks for in a listen.
A passion filled, well described and interesting storyline with a few plot twists, strong and likeable characters, a handsome tormented dominant Rake (don't we just love 'em) and the love scenes are both sensual and sweet. All this performed by the gifted Justine Eyre who breathes life into the characters and makes it a very pleasureable listen.
For the 'got to get it historically correct' listeners I am sure that in the Regency era there weren't such four letter words used as is in this book (which wasn't even an issue for me) but with a shrug and a "hey so what" surely overlooking them should be easy and ..... this was SD's first ever Manuscript !!
Worth a credit? Absolutely YES but at $9.79 (can't believe the price) I just bought it and saved my credit for a more expensive but probably not more deserving or enjoyable book - but be warned - if you don't like a 'hot and heavy' listen then look elsewhere.
This book follows Ask For It and is a luscious romantic tale full of tension, intrigue, desire, steamy passion and of course great likeable characters..Show More » (including a drop dead gorgeous Pirate/Rake). This was one of those books that had my husband complaining because I was walking around with earphones in listening to it all day, half the night and ordering in Pizza.
I love love love Sylvia Day's books but a word of warning: If you don't like sexy listens or lewd language then look elsewhere.
Worth a credit? Yes it would be but for $7.34 I just bought it and saved my credit for a pricier listen.
Just when I thought I could finally get some sleep...... Sylvia Day brings out yet another must have listen in her Georgian series and once again I'm ..Show More »totally hooked.
This was particularly good - childhood sweethearts Colin and Amelia lose touch but eventually reunite years later unfortunately it's at the worst possible time for both of them (isn't it always!) as she's getting engaged to a long-time friend and Colin is a spy who's undercover and who want's her and out of the spy business. This is sooo touching as Amelia's torn between old love, a friend's love and a new exciting love and Colin has to fight hard first to try to stay away from her then to fight for her.
It's go passion, heartbreak, sex, tension, excitement and brilliant romantic characters to empathise with - there are some characters that we know well as we have met them before in previous books so, to get the most out of this series, they're not really meant to be stand alone listens. There's some bad language too so it may put some of you off.
Worth a credit? Again, and I've said it before in my previous reviews, it's a cheap series to just buy and we'll worth it - however I would gladly have used credits.
Ms Day I love love love all your books and cannot wait for the next one to be released...... but do you realise I can't get my work done properly, my..Show More » family's living on take-outs and I've now become an insomniac. If you like sexy Georgian romance listens then my tale shows you just how addictive this series is as once you start listening you just won't want to stop.
This is another captivating story but this time it's about an evil villain, mistaken identity, three romances - one's heartbreaking, one's fiery and one's about forgiveness. They all have passion, tension, deception, danger, seduction, betrayal and lots and lots of sex by brilliant characters that you sympathise and empathise with. Not really a stand alone listen as most of the characters have parts in previous books.
Worth a credit? Yes, but as I've said before, they are all very reasonably priced so splash your cash sit back and enjoy. But a word of warning - get all your work done first and pre-prepare your meals!!
