Joanne Fluke has been around for a while so I decided to give her series another try. It was ok. I still think it's a bit unrealistic that everyone ..Show More »tells Hannah there secrets and that she isn't reprimanded for breaking and entering people's home or keeping evidence from the police. Also, the final scene with the villain in this book is very similar to the final scene in the first book. I have run out of things to read so I might read the third book in this series. The recipes sound delicious and uncomplicated.
I mix up my audio books - serious- funny-easy catagories. I lisened to the HELP before this and wanted something not too heavy... This is in the eas..Show More »y & cute catagory. Reminds me of the old Murder She Wrote series on TV when I was a teenager. Narrator was good too..
I've enjoyed all the Hannah books I've read/listened to. The narrator does a good job with the voices. I wish they had added a note that the last reci..Show More »pe (for fudge cupcakes) had an error. It is corrected during the story in the next book, but that was too late for me. I had cupcake batter ALL over my oven. The recipe called for baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. Beware all recipe testers!
This book is so sickeningly sweet that you will need to schedule a dental appointment afterwards.
I felt as though I was being taught manners ..Show More »by a 70 year old woman with a Swedish accent.
Words were defined for the reader as if English is a second language.
In a fit of anxiety that I would empty my ipod audiobooks over the holidays I overdosed on Joanna Fluke and will never make that mistake again.
This book was really good. I wasn't able to tell with in the first three chapters who the killer was and exactly who died. I only wish she would hur..Show More »ry up and pick which boyfriend she wants to marry. I also wish they would wait and do all of the receipes at the end of the story instead of right after the food was mentioned, But I still love them and I know that the way it is read is the way it is written.
After reading other reviews of this book. I think that the others were perhaps a bit to harsh. I really enjoyed the book. It wasn't deep or particu..Show More »larly earth shattering, however it was a pleasant story and exactly what I was looking for when I downloaded the book. The story was a bit of a cream puff itself. Light and fluffy, with little substance, but delicious for a hot summer afternoon on the beach.
I will agree that the recipes were a little distracting, but it is easy to skip past. Actually I would have liked to have a text file with the book with the said recipes. I don't think the recipes within the book were distracting enough to take away from the overall book! Quit being so snobby, and enjoy light reading for what it is!
As usual I was not disappointed in Ms. Fluke's newest book. Didn't know until the very end who dunnit!! I like her books and the narrater is great. T..Show More »he caracters just get better and better.
Joanne Fluke is one of my favorite mystery authors. My daughter and I have read all her series. I decided to try one of her audio books instead of buy..Show More »ing the hardcover this time. As always, I loved the story and can not wait until her next title comes out to find out more about Hannah Swenson life. I will have to say I found the interruption for the recipes a little annoying as I typically skip over the recipes until I've read the entire story. Afterwards, I go back and look over the recipes. My wish would be to have the recipes in a seperate type file to download.
Don't waste your time or money on this one. So short, and not of the quality of her other work. Then the other two books are not up to the quality of..Show More » Fluke. So sorry I wasted my money and a credit on this book.
I loved listening to this book because: - it picked up right where the last book left off and answered the cliff..Show More »hanger ending - its another good, clean mystery - the narrator did her usual fantastic job - instead of reading the reciepes throughout the book they were saved for the end. This made it easier to listen to and follow. I hope the next books follow this trend.
If you enjoyed Joanne Flukes previous books and you want to know what happens with Norman - this book is a must and it does not dissapoint.
