I'm so excited that Audible is going to put the first books in this series online. They are a fun light listen and I really like the characters. The..Show More » narrator is great as well. They aren't deep and engrossing like some books but it's great to listen to something that can make you laugh and just enjoy the act of listening!
This is the best book in the series. I'm really glad that all of the books are available now because I can get the next one right away. I'm glad tha..Show More »t Simon's days are numbered. He was boring and I think one of the reasons that the series was moving slow. I look forward to the next book.
This is a fun, witty and interesting series filled with entertaining characters and a smidgen of drama. As always Skye gets involved personally with ..Show More »a mystery in her small town. There is a lot going on- the missing cat, the murder of her handyman and her relationships with two men. All of the storylines are nicely tied together and sorted by the end of the book. I do have a couple of problems with the plot. 1. Simon's refusal to talk to Skye about what happened while he was on vacation and 2. Giving away a large sum of money in this economy when Skye can barely pay for the repairs on her house. I found both to be unrealistic but I won't give anymore spoilers on that. I will say that Simon has got to be the most arrogant man in town and Skye is better off without him. This is a good read. I already bought the next book.
Denise Swanson delivers another solid mystery to a great series. Skye is back with the rest of the Scrumble River characters. A health spa serves as..Show More » a background to murder and mayhem. I enjoyed the plot line and the characters. I like the cliffhanger at the end. I look forward to my next trip to Scrumble River.
I like the story and overall I believe it is written well, but at least 3 to 4 times a chapter I hear, And Skye bit her lip. It must be bleeding by t..Show More »his time because she is biting her lip or cheek all the time. Other than that I am really enjoying the story and like the series. This is only the second one I have listened to, but I intend to buy more of them on Audible.
This is the first book by Denise Swanson. I love murder mysteries. Some go way on the dark side. Swanson's Murder of a Bookstore Babe is a lighthea..Show More »rted deviance from the dark and deep throws of the hard core murder mysteries.
This latest installment of the continuing saga of Skye and Scumble River is a good listen, but definitely not her best work.
The plot was rat..Show More »her off-the-wall but then, it's organizing character, Bunny, is a rather off-the-wall character so it works. I had a hard time believing the villain was as blatantly irksome as she is portrayed. It just didn't ring true to me.
The narrator, as usual, was great! Great voices and the sardonic humor of Ms. Swanson was appropriate.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. But, I've enjoyed the other Swanson books a bit more. It did not put me off the series and I'll listen to her next installment. I'm not sure it was worth an entire credit though.... but, if it were on a 4.95 sale, yes.
