I wanted to try a new author (new for me) so I gave this story a shot. And what a pleasant surprise I got! I don't like to give spoilers so let's just..Show More » say this is a secret millionaire meets poor single mom. It's a cute interesting love story. It is set around Christmas time so it was extra special to listen to it during this time. I'm happy to see this is a series! I hope the next book is about Jessie's sister.
Narration: this is the first time I've listened to a book narrated by Amy McFadden and I was not impressed. She was just ok. She needs to really work on the male voices. Hopefully the next book in the series will have a different narrator.
Note: although this book has a less-than-desirable narration I still recommend it. Very cute contemporary romance story similar in style to Susan Mallery.
Catherine Bybee's "Not Quite Mine" is a delightful listen, as narrated by Amy McFadden. This is book two in the "Not Quite" Series, and another hit t..Show More »o add to her list, as she continues with the familiar characters of book one, developing more deeply into the lives of Katelyn, Jack's sister and his best friend, Dean. Definitely credit worthy! Enjoy!
Not Quite Enough, is the third book in Catherine Bybee's Not Quite series. So far, this installment is definitely my favorite. This contemporary roman..Show More »ce is about Monica and Trent. When an earthquake followed by a tsunami hit the coast of Jamaica, Monica Mann is one of the first trauma nurses to finally make good on her training with Borderless Nurses. She uses this trip to get away from jerk of a boss and recent break up. Trent Fairchild retreated to Jamaica after the sudden death of his parents. He continues to struggle over the guilt he carries. While living in Jamaica he manages a small tourist transportation fleet of helicopters and spends most his time flying! They meet during difficult circumstances, something most people won't even imagine finding themselves in. There's an instant spark between them. Monica feels she isn't one for long term relationships, in fact she tends to end them before it becomes to serious. Sex is fine, love isn't for her. Trent has major trust issues because of things that happened in the past. Then one day they finally give in to the constant attraction to each other when suddenly they find themselves in a life in death situation. I really enjoyed this book, with its action adventure, great humanitarian effort, survival and to top it off a hot steamy and dramatic romance.......can't ask for much more!! Not Quite Enough is a good, captivating and engaging book.
I have hundreds of audible books but this is the first one I read by Catherine Bybee. I'm pleased that now I have a new author that I really like. Wha..Show More »t I enjoyed the most was that the characters were very well developed, believable and likeable. The plot wasn't overdone. It was a very enjoyable read. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could give half stars. There were a couple of situations that were just a little unbelievable, but the fact that there were only a couple is really surprising. I recommend it and look forward to reading more by this author. The narrator is right on. She did a fantastic job with male and female voices. That's important to me.
I truly enjoyed listening to (& reading) this book! I was into it from the beginning and throughout the story, my attention was glued to every word. I..Show More » experienced many different emotions --- I laughed many times and I was carried away with Mary (main character) during the wonderful times she enjoyed with Glenn. I also shed many tears ---- sad and happy....scary and overjoyed. I couldn't help feeling a real emotional attachment to the main characters. Great book and fantastic narrator! ***DISCLOSURE*** I received the Kindle book for FREE through Goodreads Giveaways (I paid for the Audible audiobook).
