This book is intriguing in the beginning and the 'desperate time travel to find lost love' story will keep you happily listening for the first 5 hours..Show More ». But I personally lost patience with the conflict between the hero and heroin rather quickly. It takes hours and hours to resolve for reasons it's very hard to care about and the sick jealousy between the lovers was, for me, very hard to take. I found the last 6 hours quite tedious and was well past caring whether the warrior could say 'I love you' or not by the end. (It also seems a bit much to repeat the 'greatest sexual experience ever' six or seven times in one book. I mean - when you've made multiple orgasms tedious, I think it's time to put down your pen and wrap things up.)
I bought this one because I had enjoyed the other books in the series. I think it is a safe bet to say you can skip this one, and not miss a bit of i..Show More »nformation that won't be explained by the author in the next book. The heroine was so pathetic that had she been a real person I would have revoked her right to breath. The author limited her dialogue to "..we have to help him", I swear I heard that phrase every other minute in the audio. I hope the author gets back on track with believable pairings in the next book, and gives the heroine a personality for goodness sake!
I did not like this book at all. I have listened to all the Highlander series by Moning, Outlander by Gabaldon, and many of the Dark Hunter series by..Show More » Kenyon. This book is not up to par. I do not think the writer is very good, definitely cannot compare to the other authors. I never liked the hero he was simply a jerk with little or no redeeming qualities. His redemption is too little too late. I did not understand the romance between the main characters, never believed it. The author tried to replace real emotion and love with lust and did a poor job of it. Waste of money. The narrator was horrible as well.
I hesitate to say it again but it's such a shame that such good stories are read by a narrator that is so irritating. All her characters are portraye..Show More »d well except the lead female. In all the books she has narrated, the lead always, ALWAYS has this stupid self-rightous, whiney tone that is soooooo annoying. It makes the character so one dimensional and they aren't. Each of the woman in these books has some depth and it gets lost in the attitude.
Other than the narrator, I really like these stories. The good/evil premise is a bit extreem and black and white but the people are interesting and it's well written.
