In the end even his problem solving didn't seem as spectacular as in the previous novels. After the cliffhanger of book 2, the love story just sort of felt awkward. Plot twist at the end was unexpected. Overall it was entertaining but not quite to the level of the previous books. The narrator performed the same voices as the previous books from what I remember. They didn't feel as natural as what I remembered though. Particularly Crater seemed whinny and annoying. Maybe he was like that in the other books but he was doing more heroic things or was in deeper peril so I didn't notice.
