This is chick lit at its finest and most fun. While the 1st in the series remains my favorite, I wouldn't have missed any of them and have listened to..Show More » each 3 times. Kate Reading's narration is invaluable to the success of these stories and the author's wit and literary style are wonderful. There is another in the series coming out soon. Here's hoping Audible will get it for us quickly.

If you like this series, don't miss Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody and the Vickie Bliss series, also available on Audible, but be sure to get the ones with Barbara Rosenblat as the narrator.

I wasn't sure how I felt about Turnip being the hero of his own story. Turns out, I absolutely adored him! He sort of bumbles and fumbles about, but..Show More » he is so genuinely caring that one does not care. Arabella was a perfect match for him, overlooking his faults and accepting Turnip as is. In turn, Turnip overlooks status and class and loves Arabella for the spunky yet pragmatic woman she is.

Kate Reading is, as always, a fabulous narrator, easily transporting us to the time and place. We also get a visit from none other than Jane Austen herself, who is unassuming and witty. Eloise and Collin do not make an appearance in this story, due to the fact that it takes place between Crimson Rose and Night Jasmine. I missed them, but completely understand their absence. Mistletoe is a fantastic addition to the Pink Carnation series and a must read for any fan!

(My only complaint would be to the producers of the audiobook and not the book itself. A bit of the music from the beginning is inserted absolutely randomly throughout the book. I could almost understand if it happened only once or in between scene changes. But it happened at least half a dozen times and in completely bizarre places. One would think that a producer or editor would have noticed that.)

It's a bit of a mystery why in this book she lavishes so much energy on a main character who..Show More » is so lacking in redeeming qualities. Willig has been producing books at a suspiciously rapid rate over the past several years, but the problem with this book doesn't seem to be haste or laziness on her part. It's more like she's forgotten what attracts readers to books: great characters who we care care about having larger-than-life adventures.

The plot from the past is satisfying. And the Eloise's personal story takes on surprising turns. Fans of the Pink Carnation series will enjoy this.
