I particularly love the narrator, Aasne Vigesaa who does a great job of the male characters... She really has so much talent, its too bad she doesn't narrate more books.

This novel is fairly violent and graphic so I wouldn't recommend it for younger readers, but its a werewolf novel so er... What can you really expect.

Awesome. 5 stars all the way.

This book is very good. I loved the characters, the story was well paced. There was plenty of action and twists and turns. Its very different from ..Show More »other books in the series, which keeps the series fresh. I love the dynamic between Lucas, Paige and Benicio. I hated the voice of the narrator. She sounds like an old woman with a smoking habit. Not a bad habit, just a light one. I wish I hadn't bought the next book in the series until after I had heard the narrator.

I have to admit I didn't think I would like this book. Usually, books about people with supernatural powers are either incredibly cliched or so tongue..Show More »-in-cheek or worst of all, so Anne Ricesque, that they invariably disappoint. NOT SO with this gem. The author has created a stand alone novel with a compplete alternate world. Also, this novel hints at the existance of others, but I have never read anything by her before and I couldn't stop listening. A cross between a mystery and mild horror/fantasy, the only problem I had was with the ending. A bit hasty- I still had questions - for my taste. However, as I believe there will be more novels with this main character, I'll have to wait and see!

The best stories of the Otherworld series are the first three with Elena and the werewolves, but all the others are worth reading. I listened to the J..Show More »amie Vegas story, also on Audio and liked it very much, but I was immediately disappointed that the same narrator was used for Hope Adams' voice in this story. The narrator does not have a young person's voice and I had already associated her with Jamie Vegas. Since the author switches the heroines in each story, someone should consider switching the voices. It is a very important aspect to the performances.

This story is good, but it isn't the best. Hope is a weak character. She's young and mostly helpless. Sometimes, internal conflict can begin to sound tedious.

I have been burning through this series enjoy each one more then the last, until now. This isn't the fault of the author, but the terrible narra..Show More »tor. This woman tried so hard to make male voices that all she did was destroy the narration, taking you out of the story. Her male voices sounded either drunk, mentally challenged, or like they smoked 4 packs of cigarettes every day. Add on to that the fact that she repeatedly miss-pronounced the name of Jamie Vegas. I have no idea how she got "Hamie" from Jamie, but she did. As I look forward to the rest of the series I am only filled with trepidation noticing that she is the narrator for the next few books also. I just wish a series could keep one narrator for the entire series.
As for the story. It was another great installment in this series with all the twists and turns that Kelley Armstrong is so great at creating. I love how she is able to give her characters depth and a well roundness that many authors lack. I feel like I know these characters as people. With faults, hopes and dreams. I would highly recommend this entire series to anybody.
In short, if you are debating reading or listening and don't care either way, Then read this book. Don't skip this one either way...just be forewarned.

I lik..Show More »e the main story of Savannah going out on her own to investigate, however I really hated the cliff hanger ending which never happened before in the series. So I will give 4 stars for the main story but minus a star for the end. The main mystery was solved but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. (and I wanted to swear just like Savannah at the end) Supposedly that will be resolved in the next book, but I really wish the book didn’t end as it did. Now I eagerly await the next book in both dread and hope. I have faith in Ms. Armstrong so I will wait patiently. (sigh)

Using Johanna Parker as a narrator threw me a little bit for the last couple books because I was used to her "sookie" voices. However, she does a great job here.
I won't spoil anything here, but let it be known you are in for a wild ride right from the beginning. This book picks up exactly where the last one left off.
