Always good to return to Virgin River, a town with supportive family, neighbors and friends. I appreciate the range of age in the characters in this s..Show More »eries too, from young to old. The focus of this book is Luke Riordan's younger brother Sean. The Roirdon family's Irish Catholic values play a part in the story too. It is another story about unplanned pregancy which RC tells in a sympathic and thoughtful manner. Sean reunties with an old flame Franci, the girl that got away! The book focuses on their past relationship and building the future with a young daughter. This book lacked the suspenseful scenes usually in all RC books, but remained true to Virgin River format, always making you feel good! They are imperfect people who recognize just that, families that stick together through it all and friends that help out with a kind word, or a hammer, or a meal.

Robyn Carr does another excellent job with this next installment on a great series. I like the fact that these stories are about more than just roman..Show More »ce. She gives real insight into these characters, most of whom are flawed in one way or another, so it's like relating to actual people rather than fantasy heroes. As always, I encourage you to start with the beginning book of the series, Virgin River, if you haven't already done so. If you are already a fan of the series, this book is like catching up with old friends.

For anyone who enjoys romance series, this one is for you. Although some of the scenes are a bit over the top (speaking of the series in general and n..Show More »ot this book in particular), these books are a pleasant read without anything to graphic. They give you the view of people in a small community that work as friends and neighbors. With men who are all any woman would want (okay, it is a little unrealistic to have so many handsome, caring men who idolize their woman) it makes you want to pack a suitcase and head out to Virgin River and Jack's Bar. I'd advise getting all the books in the series and starting at the beginning. You can listen to these as stand alones but you get a more in depth feeling fot the characters when you learn about them from the start and how they interact with each other.
I listen to this series over and over and can't wait for the next book to come out.

Collin Riordan is healing from the injuries he suffered on a helicopter accident and rents a cabin in Virgin River.

The romance takes its time and its so well developed. This is definitely the best book in the Virgin River series. The secondary story about a young man named Denny that goes to VR looking for his birth father is really interesting too. Oh and the end of this story brought tears to my eyes. So good and so believeable!

Narration: it's Therese Plummer! She's simply the best narrator ever. Nobody adds emotions to a book like her. Different and perfect voices for male and females. She has kept the distinct voices of each character for all the fourteen books.Best. Narrator. Ever.

Being a series lover, I especially enjoy finding one that is populated with vivid characters and a setting that is appealing. Then I just sit back and enjoy each visit. I can highly recommend these books to readers who like an ongoing series that takes the time to allow you to get to know the characters, for they appear again and again, giving us an opportunity to know what their life is now after the happy ending. These are romances, but with a little oomph, drama, and suspense to them. Beauitfully written, expertly crafted each and every book is a keeper adding to the richness of the entire series and then you have the narration of Therese Plummer - simply an unbeatable combination.

I was also thrilled to get no lectures on safe sex, it was becoming most annoying. No huge surprises in the book, the usual easy listening of Virgin River and Therese Plummer does these books well.

I enjoy this Virgin River series when I want light reading (listening) with a feel-good ending. This book is a good addition to a light series about ..Show More »normal men and women with everyday lives and problems -- there are no super powers, no world-shattering conspiracies, no extreme technology or special effects. These are stories about people I can relate to and understand.

Although I'm usually a stickler for reading a series in order, this book can stand alone. Other characers from around Virgin River are included, but this story does not rely on their histories. However, if you're interested in Reverend Kincaid and Ellie, you can go back to read Forbidden Falls, or if you want to find out more about Jack and Melinda, you can go back to the first Virgin River book (very humerous and touching). The Riordan brothers have their own books in Moonlight Road and Wild Man Creek. As for the narration, Therese Plummer's performance of Robyn Carr's books will alway improve my mood!
