Loved this book. After looking for something similar to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Midnight Breed, or basically what I now found to be called “par..Show More »anormal romance” I settled upon the Immortal Guardian Series. This book is intelligently written with a strong female character, Sarah, discovering her knight in shining armor or rather her knight in a tanned ripped body, Roland. Normally, I listen while commuting but I could not set down the iPod and go back to normal life. I went looking for medial tasks so I could listen to more. Well now the house is sparkling and I have completed one of the most breathtaking audible books.
Liked the book but I was a little put off by the preaching of vegetarianism, recycling, etc. It's not that I disagree with the concept, but I don't pa..Show More »rticularly care for it in my fantasy books. I also found it a little unbelievable that an Immortal would own a Prius. Hot men drive a Jag, Hummer, Mercedes, etc., but not a Prius! Otherwise, I thought this book, and the first in the series were very good and I plan to buy the third when it is released.
Loved each and every book so far but I advise listening to them in order to get the most out of the Immortal Guardians and each of their adventures...Show More »r/> Bastien is a hunky, handsome, misunderstood Immortal who's still brooding on delusions from decades past which has led him to be the most disliked Immortal and is alienated by his fellow Guardians, and that of course just makes us like and root for him - the hurting underdog - all the more. This book contains an action packed storyline that's full of suspense, intrigue, passion and humour that has me begging Ms Duvall for more more more please.
Worth a credit? Yes definately and if you liked Lords of The Underworld and/or The Black Dagger Brotherhood then I'm sure you'll think so too (but if you haven't heard of these books before.... firstly, where have you been? and then secondly, check them out ASAP!!).
I love love love this series! This is book 4 and I hope there are 100 more! I never thought I would love a series more than the black dagger brother..Show More »hood but I do!
Once again we are in the world of the immortal guardians....this is a wonderful world that is full of humor, full of steamy scenes, and just plain fun to be in. In this world, set in present day, there is a virus that causes vampirism. Once someone is infected things can go one of two ways, become a blood thirsty vampire who looses their mind within a year and becomes a savage without a conscience OR if you have the special DNA you are turned into a fanged, glowing eyes, rational vampire...known as an immortal guardian. The IG's have a network of humans that help them and they protect man kind from the vicious deadly vampires.
I laughed so hard I cried! The writing is wonderful and each character has their own special personality that springs to life. If you haven't started this series you need to, just buy the first one....or use a credit....I swear you won't be disappointed!
LEATHER PANTS AND WINGS! HOW COULD YOU GO WRONG!!!
This book of the series is definitely a must read. I was starting to get a little frustrated with the Immortal Guardians series. It was starting to fo..Show More »llow a very predictable formula. But this book, this book has once again restored my love of this series. FYI, some questions still haven't been answered(groan) but there will be answers to other questions. This book doesn't have a cliffhanger, per se. It does have a HEA.
From the previous books, you already know that Lisette is starting to harbor secret feelings for the renegade immortal Zach. The one and only person on Seth’s shit list. But that doesn’t stop Lisette from helping Zach when she founds him badly beaten, bruised and bloody in her back yard. She lovely helps nurse him back to health with the aid of Bastian (the black sheep himself), knowing this will enraged Seth. She cannot understand the connection she feels towards the ancient immortal but she does realize she is willing to risk everything just to be with him.
Zach is something more. He never thought he was capable of being anything other than what he was until Lisette stepped into his life. With her, he truly understands what it is to live again. So when he almost loses her in a battle, he decides to put away old strife between him and Seth and help the Immortals Guardians, all because of his love for this dark warrior. And Zach for all his millennium of living and untold secrets, finding love is the greatest and scariest thing in his life.
The book contains, as with the series, the right combination of action, romance, suspense and passion. The fight scenes that the Immortal encounter are detailed. Dianne, as always, describes anything in such detail that you not only picture the fight, but you feel as if you are in the midst of battle. Although I think this book had a bit more of a serious tone than the previous four, it still added unexpected hilarious moments, which you may find yourself smiling or laughing along with the characters in the book. The romance scenes are rocking hot. The combine just the right amount of sexual tension, passion and drool worthy smex. YUM!!! Although unlike the other books, this book kept the suspense throbbing and alive for me the entire book. Even now, I'm thinking through different scenes from the book trying to answer unanswered questions. I think that is what makes it worthwhile, when I want to reread a book because I'm left questioning and speculating about different chapters of a book.
Every time I listen to a book that Kristen Potter narrators, I found a new facet of her voice that I enjoy. She gives each characters the right amount of distinguishable accent for their nationality. I particular loved her voice for Aiden (secretly hoping his book is next).
My two cents is to buy this book. If you have read the series in the past and thought it was getting predictable, this book will hopefully bring you back into the world of the Immortal Guardians.
