absolutely loved this audiobook! the story line kept my interest and the reader was awesome!

One of several related "Ice" stories from Anne Stuart about various "Committee members." This one involves operative Taka and a woman named Summer Ha..Show More »wthorne, who holds the key to finding a beautiful blue urn given to her by her nanny. A madman wants it, and Taka keeps her safe, while fighting his own orders to kill her. It is tense and gritty, and includes a hostage situation and a "chess game" of sorts using people's lives. This story is interesting, tense, tough, and full of suspense. It also has a good ending. Enjoy!

I've given this book four stars because I loved it and couldn't stop listening to it even though it had so many obvious flaws. Most difficult to igno..Show More »re were the glaring deficiencies of the narrator who (I think) tried an English accent for one character and, astonishingly, a vaguely Middle Eastern one for the hero who, we're told, was raised in L.A. I still have no idea what she was thinking but the fact that I could focus on the story despite these potential distractions means it must have been a pretty good one.
For readers new to Anne Stuart, she truly excels in creating utterly miserable (but courageous/heroic) heroines who soldier bravely through much adversity before they're rewarded by their climactic release. Always the same - always satisfying. Her heros mangage to walk the line of cruelty without losing their appeal - which I always think is a nice trick. An excellent trick here. Following the principle that many fine cakes can be made of the same recipe - Stuart fans will find this book a tasty creation indeed.

I enjoyed this entire series ,but Fire and Ice the best Anne Stuart so far ! Reno is HOT HOT HOT!

I started listening to the "Ice" series with book three and was hooked, so I went back -- started with book one through book five and actually thought..Show More » that the series was finished. I was surprised to see audiobook six for sale yesterday and immediately downloaded and listened. This is another great book in the series - a classic Anne Stuart omega or anti-hero, a well thought out and realistic plot, character development and unconventional romance - not a stereotypical "they see each other and 50 pages in, they are in love". As with many of this author's books, the reader is not really certain they should like the main male character - the hero, because he may not actually be a hero, he certainly has flaws. This is a good story. Although this book can be read alone, integration of several characters from earlier novels into the story line make the story line interesting and someone who has read the earlier novels would have a greater appreciation for the plotline and earlier characters' involvement. This series has had a number of narrators, all of whom I liked, Xe Sands does a great job with both female and male voices, accents, pauses and speed. I will go back and listen to the five earlier audiobooks.
