I guess humor like many things is all relative. I thought this book was hilarious, verging on slapstick. I could just imagine the shenanigans in my ..Show More »mind. It is farfetched and silly, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you take everything literally, maybe this isn???t your cup of tea, but if you want escapism and some laughs this is it.
Well if you already purchaed The Countess then don't waste your $$$ on the Heiress because the author basically made two books from one. She narrated..Show More » The Countess with Dickey a/k/a Richard and Christiana and The Heiress with two other characters but basically told the same story. The Heiress tells the the story from Daniel and Suzette's characters. The Heiress Part 1, I basically skipped through and a good portion of Part 2 until they got to the part where Daniel and Suzette were running off to marry.
Lady stupid will have you continually rolling your eyes to the heavens saying...."..oh no, surely she isn't, she can't, she wouldn't, she's not that s..Show More »tupid, but alas she is and she does!! She runs off here and there, always ignoring sensible advice and gets herself in trouble which was the main storyline of a weak book. I could not empathize with her in any way because she was just so frustrating.
Coupled with that, I thought the narrator was sooo sloooow, I put the speed on my iPhone to x1 speed (which doubles the speed) and that sounded about right. I don't think the Publishing Houses give enough thought to the narrators of their books but it is SO important, they can make even a great book unbearable!
I love L. S.'s vampire books and I love romance books - Paranormal, Historical or Modern Day (hundreds by now) but I would say "don't waste your credit" but if you've listened to the others in the series and your a fan then you will probably ignore me!
