One of the few times I wish I had read the book instead of listened to it. Too bad. I hope the narrator for the next book in the series is better.
Susan Mallery books are among my favorites reads (listens). But if you're expecting the same tone as the Fool's Gold series you might be disappointed..Show More ». I really liked the characters in this book (though not in the first book of the series) and was so involved I found myself crying all the time. That's the difference - there is a heavier or more serious tone to this book. Reminded me of Kristan Higgins' books.
