This novel was mildly interesting. A little too much like Twilight, but I found the main character's backstory adequate. The narrator was very good...Show More » Not a great cross over for adults, but not a bad listen. The rest of the series is pure repetition.
I was a little offset by "Evermore" and thought the ending was just a bit odd. Not only did enjoy the 2nd book more, but it made the 1st book more co..Show More »mplete! It is a separate 'story', so obvious that it is a separate book rather than all one together. I like the 1st book MORE now that I've read this 2nd one. and in all justification, the 1st had me curious enough to pick up the 2nd. I do almost all Audiobooks, and I also like the reader for this series. She embodies the main character very well. Very romantic without being SAPPY and a lot in interesting adventures & twists! Now EAGER for the 3rd book out next month!!!!
I listened to the first book in the series and thought "It's no Vampire Academy or Twilight" but it's worth a listen.
I made it onto the..Show More » second book and was totally frustrated with the way it ended and knew I had to read the third to see any resolution.
Now however, I wish I had never read or listened to any of them. Such a waste of time.
It's like Noel is prolonging our agoney for more book sales by adding new characters and conflicts for the main characters.
Really, do we need new conflict and problems when you have no resolution to the first two books?
The series has reached the point where you will no doubt be irritated and upset by the end of the series. She has only left the possibility of a very terrible ending. You know where everything is summed up in five short minutes after you listened for 50 hours. Just get it over with already and stop wasting our time.
I enjoy this genre, so I'm bought and listened to all 5 books in this series. I like the characters and the idea behind the series, but sometimes the..Show More » awkward writing gets in the way. The author will start a scene, and then end the scene without explaining what happened. Then only to later have the character have a long inner dialogue to explain what happened. I kept feeling like I skipped ahead in the story, when I hadn't. Other then that, the characters have grown and developed over the last 5 books. And I will finish the series. I also enjoyed the narrator! She has the perfect voice for this series. If you enjoy this genre, pick this one up.
