This is the first of a series of Black Knights Inc books, the only one published so far. The next is due out in September and I, for one, can't wait...Show More » I listened to this practically without a break and finished it in less than 24 hours. Nate 'Ghost' Weller works for Black Knights Inc, a private security firm hiding behind the front of a custom motor cycle shop. He is recently back from a mission gone wrong during which his partner Grigg Morgan was killed. Ghost has always had a 'thing' for Grigg's little sister Ali and when she approaches him with concerns of being stalked, he and the rest of the Black Knights team come to her rescue.
This book is pretty descriptive. I wrinkled my nose and muttered 'ew!' on several occasions, but I also laughed out loud more than once. I found it a nice mixture of suspense, romance, humour and action. Abby Craden was very good at narrating, although I felt several times her low growling of Ghost's dialogue was a little distracting - less of the sexy, more of the scary.
I do hope Audible pick up the next book 'In Rides Trouble' - I'm keen to listen to it!
OK-not a real big fan of the "Big Mis" plot device
I thought the chemistry between Becky and Frank was great. However, this is one of those books where a 5 minute honest conversation would have solved..Show More » all problems. You have to go to the very end of the book to finally get to that conversation. Too much of the plot is written around the "big misunderstanding" and the suspense/action was very much on the thin side of the plot. Harkens back to the 80's contemporary romance where a plot line was all about the two main characters totally misjudgments/misunderstandings. Boring as a plot line in my opinion. The first book in this series was much better.
