The story does start off slow but as the plot unfolds it moves from topics of medicine, rehabilitation, and romance to decision and comprise. It's the kind of story that is inspiring because of what the characters had to endure. I don't think this is the kind of book for everyone but if you enjoy stories with challenged characters give this one a try.
The narration was well done. The main character's accent was quirky yet accurate as she moved around so often her accent had many influences.
Note: This book does have sex scenes and some strong language.
