Bella Andre, has done it again. This one is a hit with me. This story starts out smoking hot and I don't mean the heat from the fires. This story also..Show More » develops into somewhat of a surprise for me. I expected a great romance, but what I did not expect was suspense or a crazy killer on the loose. I could not put this one down.
Maya Jackson is the female lead who is immediately attracted to the hot sexy Logan Cain. These two have a brief encounter and six months later, they meet again and sparks really start to fly. It was really fun seeing the physical attraction between Maya and Logan turn into to something deeper. I am about the listen to this one again, it’s that good!
This was a completely standard romance novel. Nothing special in my opinion. There wasn't a good "meet que" because the characters had a past. Some..Show More » of it seemed a little unrealistic and I was especially bogged down with her constant thoughts. I finally had to skip through some of the later parts of the story because I was irritated with the female character. The story is OK but its almost two stories going on at the same time past/present and neither one is really well developed. I'm saddened that this was a feature book on audible and will not make the mistake of assuming something is good just because it's featured!
Take one mentally and physically scarred ex-firefighter hero named Connor, add one woman recently divorced from a really bad marriage called Ginger, p..Show More »ut them together in a log cabin and watch as the smouldering instant attraction ignites lust and the sparks soon fly. Then suddenly you have an inferno of passion, sex, denial, sacrifice, hurt and desire as Ginger desperately holds on as they both try to overcome Connor's past, and oh so present, buried emotions.
Entwined along with that storyline is a 'second chance' love affair between Andrew (Connor's Father) and Isabelle who were once childhood sweethearts but a teenage betrayal changed the course of theirs and so many others lives. However, never say never and 30 years later can hindsight and forgiveness finally overcome the hurt and rekindle their feelings in this touching, tender, heart-wrenching love affair and will they eventually get their happy ending.
Don't expect an action-packed listen but rather two well written old and new love stories with sub plots, great characters, a misunderstood teenager, a recap of the previous couple's stories and witness the near fatal crisis at the end finally brings everyone together.
Worth a credit? YES, a very pleasant (if not really plausible) ending to the trilogy spanning one family - could be a stand-alone listen but for greatest enjoyment listen to them in order. I don't know if BA intends to write about any other Hot Shots.
