I love this series and was so glad to see Shadow Game, which is book 1 in the GhostWalker series, was finally picked up for audio. Shadow Game sets up..Show More » the whole series about Doctor Peter Whitney who experiments on men to make the perfect commando team that can work together, talk to each other without speaking, have paranormal powers like being able to make guards look the other way, blending in with the background and control over animals. They also have super hearing and can see in the dark. When Dr Lily Whitney, Dr Peter Whitney's daughter, who also has the same type of powers as the men, is brought in on the project, she wonders if her father is a genius or a madman. Of course there is a love story as well that will blow your mind.
The narrator, Tom Stechschulte, is a brilliant choice for this series. He has a different voice for each of the GhostWalkers (the team of men in this series), and having listened to the other books in this series, he keeps the voices true to each character, in each book. Awesome!!
Christine Feehan is such a good author and I always have a hard time waiting for her next book to come out, no matter which series it is in. I really loved this book and will listen to it again and again.
I agree with a previous review by Henry. There's too much gratuitous sex and not enough story line during the second half of the book. I got sick of..Show More » hearing about the sexual tension and "heat" between the characters. I enjoyed Dangerous Tides and Night Game much more. This is definitely the weaker of her books. It was hard to make it through the second half.
This is one the strongest books in her Ghostwalker series. Flame is a consistently strong character who gives as good as she gets. The narrator had me..Show More » worried with his heavily done cajun accent he does for the main male character,Gator, but either he tones it down or the ear gets use to it. The sex scenes were hot as usual and a little crazy.
I was so bummed when the audiobook for Predatory Game was skipped in the Ghostwalker series; I'm super glad it's out now! It's most definitely one of ..Show More »my favorites. To me, the story focuses more on the relationship of the main couple than some of the other Ghostwalker books. I also like how the story starts in an already developed relationship. It seems more realistic than some of the others (taking the genre into consideration). I'm also very pleased Tom Stechschulte narrated. He does a great job with these books! A highly recommended listen! Now if only we could get Shadow Game and Deadly Game!
I loved this book, I wasn't too happy with the last book in the series but this one puts her back on top!
This book has everything, a gre..Show More »at love story with sexy steamy love scenes but in NO way do they take away from the action, and there IS action. The book was never slow and it took turns I did NOT see coming, which was nice.
This is a book that I will listen to again and recommend to friends and family.
This is the latest instalment in the Ghostwalker series. I waited a long time for it, and I wasn't disappointed. The entire series is loaded with acti..Show More »on, military precision, futuristic science, culturally and racially diverse characters and passionate love scenes. The sex and violence is very explicit, so if that's not your thing, this isn't the book for you.
I wouldn't call this series paranormal, although I believe it is billed as such. Rather than ghosts and vampires, this series is about genetically enhanced male soldiers, and their female counterparts who were similarly enhanced as children. Their enhancements give them certain powers that are well above and beyond what is common to most humans. A scientific genius created them to be military super weapons, and also breeding pairs for (hopefully) genetically gifted children.
Each book focuses on a couple who meet and fall in love. I suppose each book "could" stand alone, but not comfortably. There is an ongoing background story that is as compelling as the main story of each book, and for that reason I would suggest reading the series from the beginning to get the full effect.
Samurai Game itself was a wonderful addition. Thorn is a strong, smart heroine who doesn't sit around waiting for the hero to rescue her. Nor does she rush headlong into danger without the resources to get herself out. She is in parts strong and ruthless, caring and serene. Sam is a soldier through and through, with a man's need to protect his woman, but with enough respect for her capabilities to let her handle situations on her own.
If you like your romances with a healthy dose of action and intrigue, and if you like strong, smart, capable heroines to go along with your sexy macho heroes, you will love this series, and this book.
