i suppose you could say i'm on an erotica kick right now, having finished Fifty Shades and wanting more, i turned to Bared to You, but even that wasn'..Show More »t enough. so i did a little searching online and Wicked Ties was the next recommendation.
my oh my! what a fun read. and yes people, it's not exactly the most plausible storyline out there, but in terms of a fun escape, this did it for me. it was fun how the two ended up completely alone, having only each other to explore. loved every minute of it, and have listened to it twice.
it was wonderfully sweet moments, and it made me giggle in a few places too. the narration is terrific. so i gave it five stars. definitely worth the credit.
This is Book 2 in Shayla Black's Wicked Series and as with all Shayla Black books it's erotica all the way. The story is a bit far fetched "virgin wa..Show More »nts to lean how to have a menage to please her pop-star friend"...meanwhile staying a virgin (not a spoiler since that happens in the first chapter).
There are a few twists and I must admit I wondered who she would end up with one or both of them...not so obvious there.
The usual...someone is after the girl part of the story ...was not really well developed and the secrets they held were built up so much that I couldn't help being disappointed when I was told what they were.
All that said...the story was good, the sex was great and would listen to it again (not something I say about all the books I hear).
I would recommend starting with Book 1 and listening your way through the series in order.
Shayla Black's Wicked Lovers series is overall very good, but I just didn't like this one. The best parts were the cameos by previous characters in t..Show More »he series and the excellent narrator. The story itself was so unbelievable that I found myself rolling my eyes a lot and finally listening on double speed just to get through it so I could say I have listened to them all. I wanted to slap both main characters because Hunter was an insufferable bully, and Kata had no spine. I found very few redeeming qualities in either of them, and should have heeded the reviews I read on Amazon and skipped this one. Having said that, I still look forward to the next installments on Audible because the first 3 books were great, and I will listen to those again.
I found that I really love about this story is the characters themselves; the story line itself is interesting and somewhat plausible. But the charac..Show More »ters! I think I love Logan; the classic flawed hero/bad-ass bad boy always gets my attention and Tara's spunkiness is a recipe for sparks. But it's also the lesser characters who add dimension to this story, Xander in particular-his presence as the classic side-kick is welcome both as a foil and as a point of concern. Black's done a nice job with giving us interesting sidekicks and friends in the past and this story continues that trend in this series. Logan as Dom is believable and the romance is as well. Is this serious reading/listening material? Not so much but then, I WAS looking for pure escapism and this book fits the bill in my Universe! And as always, props to Lexie Maynard; her narration brings the characters to life for me.
I’m such a fan of this series. As soon as it was available for pre-order I immediately ordered it. I'm so accustomed to hot dominate men with intense ..Show More »sexual escapades and a damsel in distress. I got a hot man of course. I also got a damsel in distress. I got NONE of the chemistry I had got in the previous 5 books. Please don’t write a book just to get another one out there. I want the intensity of previous books. Not a “filler” book.
This one felt like one just put together to appease the demand. It doesn’t stand out like the others did. It’s a very predictable book with predictable sexual situations. In my opinion I wasted my credit and that’s something I would have never thought I’d say on this series. Don't waste your credit on this one. It's just too insipid.
Unrealistic, corny in places, with some real hot sex thrown in. I have to say it's fiction and that's what we listen to fiction for. It was an escape ..Show More »into a erotic wonderland. It's better than book 6 but not as good as books 1-5. I must admit that I did enjoy the sexy bits and some of the other. The big question is the credit worthiness. I would have to leave this one to your discretion because I'm on the fence with this one.
2 unrelated short books in 1, which is cool, however, the first book is the 8th or 7.5th in a series, so adding a different short behind it is kinda s..Show More »trange, but hey the second book was good.
Both stories were good and similar in style. Hot, dangerous and adrenaline pumping. I enjoyed both but as they are short they leave a bit to be desired in depth. I do want a lot from a story and I always feel like I want more information, that is me, may not be applicable for all. If you've listened to all the Wicked Lovers books you of course have to continue, but I will say, you really don't get to visit with the previous couples.
In the previous books, Calli was a background character. The transition to her being the main character didn't flow. It was just too much of an inform..Show More »ation dump to learn all about her past right off the bat. The rest of the story was more or less okay.
The narrator was HORRIBLE! I know a lot of people didn't like the previous narrator, Lexi Maynard, but Veronica was torture.
