Definitely worth the credit for me. This book has everything I look for in an audiobook and more. I like romance with a touch of hot sex in the mix an..Show More »d this book has that in spades. This audiobook is also long enough to let the reader get to know both main characters and give a believable and interesting storyline along with the hot sex. It's a delicate balancing act, something a lot of books I've listened to have failed to achieve.
This is Book 2 in Shayla Black's Wicked Series and as with all Shayla Black books it's erotica all the way. The story is a bit far fetched "virgin wa..Show More »nts to lean how to have a menage to please her pop-star friend"...meanwhile staying a virgin (not a spoiler since that happens in the first chapter).
There are a few twists and I must admit I wondered who she would end up with one or both of them...not so obvious there.
The usual...someone is after the girl part of the story ...was not really well developed and the secrets they held were built up so much that I couldn't help being disappointed when I was told what they were.
All that said...the story was good, the sex was great and would listen to it again (not something I say about all the books I hear).
I would recommend starting with Book 1 and listening your way through the series in order.
Wow! Black is getting better and better! Ok... we already know who Luc is from Decadent. Luc and Deke had the threesome with Kimber... We already know..Show More » Alyssa from Wicked ties... the owner of the strip club. I vaguely remember in Decadent the mention of these to hooking up and the mention of the 6 hour romp. It did not register until now.
OMG! Black! WHAT! If you have listen to or read Decadent, Luc really has come full circle now. I love this story. Luc and Alyssa is so mismatched but so perfect and Luc... dang.. the way Black expand his character...OMG... it is sooo hot!!! If you enjoyed the smex from Wicked Ties and Decadent, well then, you will go crazy for this, plus the story is awesome too.
One fact I love about series is how they just keep going. Its like the characters just keep living.. ya know. I was wondering what was gonna happen to Luc and now I know.
Maynard is really getting up there with Xe Sands in narration. I really like her. She is very good. All her females from book to book sound the same, so I have to adjust a bit other than that... her narration is really good. Totally worth the buy/or credit...
Shayla Black's Wicked Lovers series is overall very good, but I just didn't like this one. The best parts were the cameos by previous characters in t..Show More »he series and the excellent narrator. The story itself was so unbelievable that I found myself rolling my eyes a lot and finally listening on double speed just to get through it so I could say I have listened to them all. I wanted to slap both main characters because Hunter was an insufferable bully, and Kata had no spine. I found very few redeeming qualities in either of them, and should have heeded the reviews I read on Amazon and skipped this one. Having said that, I still look forward to the next installments on Audible because the first 3 books were great, and I will listen to those again.
As much as I disliked Hunter and Kata in book 4, I loved Logan and Tara in book 5. I got the connection between them that I just never got in the las..Show More »t book. This series is basically lots of hot sex and a bit of good guy/bad guy action. I love Lexi Maynard and hope she continues to perform these. The only negative was that there weren't many updates on past characters, but Logan and Tara were more than enough to hold my interest.
Another damsel in distress seeks protection from a smokin'-hot, big, strong alpha male. Was that a complaint? No, not at all. While all of the books..Show More » in this series are HOT and steamy, this one is a little tamer in some ways. This one is not about how the woman needs to either change her perceptions and accept that her man must have her his way or hit the highway, and I liked that it was more of an emotion-driven book with great sex than a sex-driven book with some emotions thrown in as accessories. Not that those types of books don't have their time and place, but I guess I was more in the mood for this one right now.
I have been waiting for Tyler to have a HEA since Delicious. When his old "friend," Delaney, shows up on his front door with some heavy personal drama and in imminent danger, Tyler mans up and deals. They have a short period of time to get over their past hurts and trust each other in order to survive the mess Delaney has found herself in. Their connection is still there, and that leads them down the right road, mostly. I was interested in the interactions with the couples from the previous books and the foreshadowing of the next one which I will automatically put in the cart.
Again, this is a great series. It's very well-written, and Lexi Maynard is fast becoming one of my favorites to listen to.
Okie Dokie...here we go...if you are looking at book 8 I assume you've listened to books 1-7. If so, you know what to expect, hot sex, lots of it, a ..Show More »not so plausible story-line (who cares) pretty good character development and did I say HOT??? Yes, in deed that is true. I found this story to actually have some amount more meat than some of the previous, not all, but some were more sex less story. This one definitely had a great mix of both but had a good story line that was interesting and fast paced.
