When Derrick Storm needed to leave the CIA, he couldn't just retire. He had to fake his own death. So when his former boss calls in an old favor that will bring Storm out of early retirement and back to Washington to investigate a high-profile kidnapping, he knows there must be more at stake than the life of a senator's son. Working alongside, but not exactly with, bombshell FBI investigator April Showers, Storm must make sense of a confusing flurry of ransom notes and a complicated web of personal relationships and international politics.

From Tokyo, to London, to Johannesburg, high-level bankers are being gruesomely tortured and murdered. The killer, caught in a fleeting glimpse on a surveillance camera, has been described as a psychopath with an eye patch. And that means Gregor Volkov, Derrick Storm's old nemesis, has returned. Desperate to figure out who Volkov is working for and why, the CIA calls on the one man who can match Volkov's strength and cunning - Derrick Storm.

Love the show..The book--Not so much.

Richard Castle could learn much from Carl Hiaasen. The book has some funny names and the term "ruggedly handsome" was used liberally, but the plot wa..Show More »

Derrick Storm, the guy the CIA calls on when it wants something investigated domestically, is 33,000 feet in the air, returning from a rock-climbing vacation in the Swiss Alps, when the plane spirals into a nosedive. Storm uses his climbing gear to tether himself to the wing and heroically save the plane and all the people onboard. Sadly, Storm is not available to come to the aid of the three other planes that have crashed under similar circumstances, killing everyone onboard.

    Nice addition to the series!

Once again, Richard Castle and Robert Petkoff did a wonderful job of bringing Derrick Storm and other characters to life. I've enjoyed this series as ..Show More »

Nikki Heat and Derrick Storm, New York Times best-selling author Richard Castle's most enduring and beloved characters, team up for the first time to save Nikki's mother, Cynthia, who has been in hiding (and presumed dead) for 17 years. Standing in their way is a nefarious group of Chinese businessmen known as the Shanghai Seven, who have the resources - and ruthlessness - to stop them.

    Enjoyed the pairing

I have always been a fan of the Nikki Heat and Derick Storm series, so it's nice to see the two characters in one audiobook. If you like good clean fu..Show More »
