First, get a better narrator. I never read the book in print. However, listening to Ana and Christian's endless emails, (including dates and times)..Show More » made me want to pass out from bordom. Further, the constant bickering between Ana's subconsious and her "inner goddes" was annoying, and the writer's overly-generous use the terms "holy cow", "holy s--t", and "oh my" became predictable. I'm no prude, and have read many books with erotic components. However, with the writer's use of the same descriptions over and over again (e.g. "exquisit orgasm"), even the sex scenes became boring. I truely don't understand why this book has received so much hype.
It is incredibly difficult not to roll your eyes and exclaim "as if" when you listen to this book. The story line itself as an idea could be worked wi..Show More »th. However characters are simply ridiculous. In a year 2011 it is simply impossible to be Ana. The language used in the book is also odd. So many repeats and the attempts at creating the funny lovable character - huge fail. All the internal personalities and their names.... Seriously who calls their internal ego “inner goddess"? I am amazed at a line up of very excited people who loved this book. I have pushed myself to finish it.
"I gape at him"..."Oh Christian"... "Oh my 50 shades" . Save me now. I grew so tired of hearing the same lines repeated over and over, so I gave u..Show More »p on it. Poorly written. Why is this so popular? Don't waste your precious credit on it.
So I finish the Fifty Shades trilogy... Oh the tragedy! Fortunately I can and will listen to all three books over and over. I just can't get enough Fi..Show More »fty. I think my inner goddess is a pervert ;).
Narration: By now Becca Batoe's remastered recording (the-I-just-drank-half-a-bottle-of-wine-and-started-reading) is growing on me. She's ok but I still prefered the original recording were she sounded young but her male voices were much better.
Fifty Shades Freed starts with Christian and Anastacia enjoying their honeymoon. It includes more kinky lovery, more vanilla wonders and more Christian going sicko possessive. By now this drags a bit because it is a repeat of situations: Christian jealous, Ana challenges them, they fight, the have steamy sex and so on and so forth. Christians skeletons keep coming out of the closet and threatening his dear Ana. There is some suspense that brings some spice to the book but it never lives up to the mesmerizing stories we got on the first two books. Oh, and Ana calls RED on fifty. I was waiting for that!
I believe that listeners will be happy with the ending. Definitely the epilogue and the Shades of grey chapters are the absolute best in the whole book. It was exactly what I wanted to listen to in this story. This trilogy is in a class of its own. I've never read anything like it and will treasure it for years to come.
I felt cheated by this purchase. It was virtually the same book as the original Fifty Shades until three quarters of the way through, when the author..Show More » decided to give us slightly more insight into Christian's character. I won't be purchasing any further episodes in this series.
