"Great stories, bad narration"
This is a story about two boys who grew up in a rural area of Southern California. Because there were no other children for miles in any direction, the two boys spent every waking hour together until school and remained as brothers their entire lives. This would not have been so unusual but for the fact that one of the boys was a Japanese immigrant, and they graduated from high school in 1941.
Brett Cole is one of the nearly 3,000 Americans who go missing every day; however, in Brett's case, he disappears willingly. Thirty years old and disillusioned, he packs his bags (including his Smith & Wesson) and vows to reach Mexico.
