In 1968, a couple of KGB agents in Germany wanted to defect. Too bad for them that the CIA and the US Army wanted no part of this action. A group of US soldiers decided to facilitate these defections without any official coordination. What could possibly go wrong? More things than you can probably imagine.
"Very believable story"
The author lived almost 27 years in Germany working as an Army Counterintelligence Special Agent. He interviewed hundreds of refugees from East Germany and East Prussia. He also interviewed many Germans who survived as Russian prisoners of war. This book is based the memories of those who lived through World War Two and the American Occupation of Germany.
"A fabulous historical look at peoples lives"
