good intentions, poor results
This podcast is honorable - I truly believe the host are trying to help, with some reservations. I also think we need to step back from armchair professionals directing social justice traffic. Many of these episodes leave a funny impression. I finished some of them wondering, to quote one of the great artists, "Is This It?" Some stories feel retroactovely creative which hurts credibility, but not enough to make me believe they have bad intentions. I think we need real professionals in this arena or we are causing even more harm.
I appreciate men stepping up but I'm genuinely wondering why we need them to lead any discussion that truly belongs to women. Gut wrenching conversations about toxic masculinity, mysogyny and sexual abuse need the voices of impacted people. The male co-host has about as much of a place leading this discussion as a can of diet coke. I'd like to see more pros, more women, and fewer men patting themselves on the back for being so woke.
