  • Weekly Roundup: Hush Money, Pocket Money
    Apr 26 2024
The first week of testimony in Donald Trump's criminal trial in New York centered on David Packer, the tabloid mogul who says he helped quash stories in order to benefit the then-candidate's presidential bid. And in a Pennsylvania county where voters expressed concerns about inflation ahead of the 2022 midterms, people say they're still frustrated by high prices but that the economy is not necessarily the top factor in who they'll vote for come November.

This episode: senior White House correspondent Tamara Keith, political reporter Ximena Bustillo, White House correspondent Asma Khalid, and senior political editor and correspondent Domenico Montanaro.

  • Absolute Immunity?
    Apr 25 2024
Months after Special Counsel Jack Smith first asked the Supreme Court to weigh in on Donald Trump's claim of absolute immunity from criminal prosecution, the Supreme Court finally heard the former president's appeal. At least a few of the conservative justices seemed receptive to Trump's argument. What is unclear is whether the court will act in time to allow the federal cases against the former president to be resolved before the 2024 election.

This episode: senior White House correspondent Tamara Keith, national justice correspondent Carrie Johnson, and senior political editor and correspondent Ron Elving.

Sen. Jon Tester is an experienced political strategist and capable campaigner whose reputation as a working farmer has helped him to defy the odds as a Democratic in ruby-red Montana. This episode: senior White House correspondent Tamara Keith, political correspondent Susan Davis, and Montana Public Radio Capitol Bureau Chief Shaylee Ragar.

This podcast was produced by Kelli Wessinger and Casey Morell. Our editor is Eric McDaniel. Our executive producer is Muthoni Muturi.

just facts

They just tell the facts without intersecting their own opinions. if cable news did this, this country would be better off.

Huge fan and wish it was on multiple times a week.

anyone who's hating on commentary and coverage like this wants to storm the capital deep down in the pocket of dead tissue where their heart and sense of patriotism used to be

good summary with some filler

I wish they'd stop padding this with listener time stamps opening each episode and the can't let it go segments on Friday.

Woman servicemember interview not typical

I'm in the Army. Multiracial. I found the story of the West Point veteran as a far outlier and not typical of any officer in the Army, of any race or gender. people should not use that story as a "call to arms". The overwhelming majority of officers in the military, over the past 20 years, treat people fairly and equally. We see people, not color or race. Don't be swayed by outliers -- thinking that that is the norm. Opportunities exist equally for all.

Lacking.

Severely biased. No nuance. No critical thinking. I really wanted to get into it but it was just more left wing extremist nonsense.
