Twisty Mystery
This was an interesting Aussie murder mystery. A retired cop finds his father dead in his apartment, a needle nearby. He refuses to believe the police assumption that his father was an addict and begins his own investigation into how his died. Taking up a case his father hadn’t solved, he discovers new friends, some enemies and that he knew little about his father’s life. Twists and turns abound with a shocking ending. Well done, not for kids and a great cast and production.

dumb son
The story would've been so much better if James was not so stupid. And I say this because he was supposed to be a policeman and he couldn't put two and two together and he would tell anybody what he had found out without knowing if they're the good guy or the bad guy. He didn't even know who Paul was and yet he's spilling his guts to him. It was like he was just waiting for somebody to just spill the truth like in a movie.

I was hooked from the first episode
This was an amazing story. It had me hooked from the first episode. Im a little sad to say, that I figured out the story earlier (a downside to me and thrillers/ mysteries), but the story kept me engaged enough hear the entire story through. The author and actors did an amazing job. I hate the sister had to die, but at least she did it protecting her brother.

Full-Cast Narration!!
The Goodbye Party by Louis Nowra is an engaging full-cast murder-mystery podcast series that follows James, a young man searching for the truth and justice. Not only does James want to learn the truth behind his father's death, but he also wants to uncover the deep-rooted secrets of a mysterious case his father was working on before he died.
Fans of the genre will enjoy this one! Make sure to listen closely, though, as there are a lot of characters. Toward the end, I got a little confused keeping everyone straight, but nothing too serious. If you are easily flustered by multiple characters, write them down or draw a character map as each one is introduced…it will help!
That being said, my favorite part of this podcast was the full cast. I loved hearing multiple narrators, and I definitely want to listen to more of the same in the future! I feel the cast brought the story to life in ways that a single narrator might not have been able to do.
Overall, I give 4 out of 5 stars to The Goodbye Party by Louis Nowra. It's filled with twists and surprises that will keep you listening through to the end. I recommend it to those who enjoy murder mysteries, audio dramas, and crime novels, as well as those interested in listening to a story with multiple narrators. This was a good one!
Thanks for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-)

Engaging whodunit
I started this and wasn’t too keen but by the second episode was hooked! This was a great story. You kind of know where it’s going but you also don’t. Louis Nowra really created a universe to get lost in and listening to this, you do in the most enjoyable way! This podcast has excellent writing and great casting.
If you’re someone who likes mystery and a bit of noir try this. I think you’ll be very satisfied.
