  • Akshay Nanavati-FEARVANA
    Mar 3 2021

Fear is an emotion that many people go to extremes to avoid. But what if you could make fear your friend? What if fear is what you need to propel yourself forward to health, wealth, and happiness.

Akshay Nanavati has overcome drug addiction, PTSD from fighting the war in Iraq with the Marines, depression, and alcoholism that pushed him to the brink of suicide. It was through these experiences that Akshay learned to use fear to his advantage. Akshay has used fear to build a global business, run ultramarathons, conduct humanitarian work worldwide, spend seven days in darkness, and explore the most hostile environments on the planet.

Combining his life experience with years of research in science and spirituality, he wrote the book "Fearvana: The Revolutionary Science of How to Turn Fear Into Health, Wealth and Happiness." About the book, the Dalai Lama said, "Fearvana inspires us to look beyond our own agonizing experiences and find the positive side of our lives." All the profits from the book are going toward charity.

Akshay is now on a mission to help our entire human family build a positive relationship to suffering to create a life of greater meaning, purpose, and fulfillment and he’s hopped in the virtual minivan to share with us why fear is what we need to achieve our goals and how to start making fear our friend.

Welcome to Season One Finding Confidence During COVID. At the time of these recordings, we’ve been experiencing a pandemic that has rocked life as we know it. If life is a highway, we’re experiencing a multicar pile-up of epic proportions, and we need all the confidence we can get.

Connie Holland is a highly acclaimed corporate executive who has been responsible for turning around company cultures for decades. With more than 20 years of experience as a leader, manager, and people developer, Connie is most recently known for her success as the CEO of a dynamic software company. She has mastered the art of creating diverse, people-centered work environments that allow individuals to thrive and bottom lines to grow. Because of this success, Connie is a frequent keynote speaker and guest lecturer on diversity and inclusion topics most people would be intimidated to take on: female professionals in today’s workforce, the current impacts of the glass ceiling, and the phenomenon of the glass peak.

Connie has faced adversity from an early age, suffering tremendous personal losses. With every blow that life has dealt, Connie has come back swinging.  Her “I’ll figure it out or die trying” attitude serves as an inspiration for many, and her advice “don’t make permanent decisions in temporary circumstances” is a much-needed breath of fresh air today.

Connie is a 0-120 kind of woman, so buckle up, hang on tight, and enjoy the ride.

You can learn more about Connie via her website www.glasspeak.com and connect with her on LinkedIn at Connie Martin.

    Welcome to SEASON ONE!

Finding confidence during COVID. At the time of these recordings, we’ve been experiencing a pandemic that has rocked life as we know it. If life is a highway, we’re experiencing a multicar pile-up of epic proportions.

It’s hard to be confident when you’re going through something we’ve never experienced before.   We need each other now more than ever, which is why I’ve invited six road warriors of confidence into my minivan.  The guest you’ll hear what it’s like to face challenges. They know what it’s like to struggle with confidence. They know what it’s like to have their world fall apart around them. They know what it’s like to pick up the pieces and keep going-despite their doubts. They’re going to share with you what it’s been like to navigate through COVID, and you will walk away motivated and inspired.  Buckle up; you’re in for quite the ride.

Episode one features David Rendall. David and I were connected via a friend at the beginning of the pandemic. David is the creator of BEDTalks (instead of TEDTalks), where he invited people from around the globe to share their big ideas and stories during quarantine from the comfort of their beds. I was so excited about this idea that I created over thirty-bed talks myself (you can check those out here).

Over the last fifteen years, David Rendall has spoken to audiences on every inhabited continent. His clients include the US Air Force, Australian Government, and Fortune 50 companies such as Microsoft, AT&T, United Health Group, Fannie Mae, and State Farm.

Before becoming a speaker, he was a leadership professor, stand-up comedian, and nonprofit executive.

In between presentations, David competes in ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons.

David has a doctor of management degree in organizational leadership, as well as a graduate degree in psychology. He is the author of four books:

    • The Four Factors of Effective Leadership
    • The Freak Factor
    • The Freak Factor for Kids
    • Pink Goldfish

He’s the father of three girls who are his inspiration for all things pink.

David shares with his message of using strengths as superpowers and tells us what it’s been like to lose 94% of his business during COVID.
