    On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday. The guys break down Florida's 3-2 win for the Panthers over the New York Rangers from Madison Square Garden to take a 3-2 series lead. The first period saw the Rangers getting the majority of the shots on net, but the Panthers getting more of the quality. Rangers were first to get on the scoresheet after Matthew Tkachuk turned the puck over on the PP and Chris Kreider got his goal of the series short handed. Florida would then score just over six minutes later after Gustav Forsling got through the Rangers defense in transition, his shot trickled off the left pad of Igor Shesterkin and off the crossbar and in to tie the game at one. The Cats would be the team in the third period to once again tilt the ice in their favor and they didn't stop after they killed off a penalty in the third where they had a hard time gaining the zone. Florida then got another goal off a quick one-and-done by the Rangers as Anton Lundell's shot with a screening Vladimir Tarasenko got past the blocker of Shesterkin to give the Panthers a 2-1 at 10:22. Bennett later added on an empty net goal, and even though New York made a push with Alexis Lafreniere cutting it to a 3-2 game with the extra attacker, but it was too little too late as the Panthers took Game 5 from Madison Square Garden and are now coming back home with a 3-2 series lead and are now one win away from their second consecutive trip to the Stanley Cup Final.     On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans(@JacobWinans8) to the show to break down the Panthers' 3-2 OT win over the New York Rangers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final from Amerant Bank Arena. The game saw the Cats come out on top 1:12 into the extra frame after Sam Reinhart delivered on a one-timer in a familiar spot to give the Cats the win and tie the series at 2. The Panthers did not get off to the best of starts as New York was dominating the pace of play in the first 20 minutes, and even took the lead going into the first intermission. After that, it was all Panthers where they got on the scoresheet three seconds after the power play expired thanks to Sam Bennett staying with the play after Igor Shesterkin was out of his net and Bennett hit the puck off the goaltender and in. Panthers cashed in on the power play in that period thanks to Carter Verhaeghe, where he batted the puck in to get the Panthers the lead at the time. After the Rangers scored after an icing, Florida did not allow a shot attempt in over 15 minutes of game time, where also Rangers Coach Peter Laviolette had no answers as to why NYR was pinned in their end as much as they have been. This one needed another OT period as the Panthers have dropped their last 2 postseason games in the extra frame, but it was a hook that Captain Aleksander Barkov drew (which could have also been a penalty shot), but the Panthers power play made quick work to give them the win. The guys discuss their three stars, when they thought the game was won, and where we're at with the series tied up at two and the Panthers inserting their dominance for a good portion of the game.     Panthers Lose In OT Again After Third Period Comeback, Trail The Series 2-1

    On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@fjojr and @FLACatsHistory) to recap the Panthers' 5-4 overtime loss against the New York Rangers from Amerant Bank Arena. It's now the second straight game in which the Panthers lose in the extra frame (won 11 games in a row in OT prior to the last two). The Panthers controlled play once again on the night, but New York once again picked their spots to create mistakes into goals on the night, with untimely pinches, tip-in's, and New York's counter attack. Florida had six power play opportunities on the afternoon, where Sam Reinhart scored his first goal on the man advantage since Game 4 of Round One, then added another later in the first period. There was a missed opportunity for Florida when the Rangers Defenseman Jacob Trouba went to the box for two separate penalties. Although Trouba was not called for a 5-minute major, the 4-minute PP only saw one shot on goal, with also allowing one short-handed to Rangers forward Barclay Goodrow, who now has three goals in the series. The cats got on the board first, but had to climb back twice (when it was 2-1 and 4-2) to force overtime. The Panthers poured a lot of shots on Igor Shesterkin, but failed to take the eyes away from the one-time Vezina Trophy winner. In the last 8:13 of regulation, the ice was tilted in the Panthers' favor where Sergei Bobrovsky did not see a shot and with Florida having a multitude of offensive zone draws due to New York icing the puck a good amount of times due to being pinned in their own end. Florida had multiple sparks after some line shakeups, which resulted in quick goals to give themselves a chance to win.
