  • Gunsmoke is an American radio and television Western drama series created by director Norman Macdonnell and writer John Meston. The stories take place in and around Dodge City, Kansas, during the settlement of the American West. The central character is lawman Marshal Matt Dillon, played by William Conrad on radio and James Arness on television. When aired in the UK, the television series was initially titled Gun Law, later reverting to Gunsmoke. The radio series ran from 1952 to 1961.

If you know anything about Gunsmoke the radio series was first, the TV series started because of the success of the radio series and if you listen and watch you would know the half hour tv series used scripts from the radio series. it is a great series and wish radio shows like this still existed.

Thanks again for bringing back the good ole days.

All our pets have and will have names from Gun Smoke characters. We have enjoyed this and other programs from our past.
Trust me when I say this is a wonderful way to enjoy a trip in the car or with your feet up in the evening listening to great stories from our past.

Great listening entertainment

Great show! Takes me back to the time when westerns were “king”! I am even enjoying the old commercials!

Horrible

Anyone who has watched Gunsmoke, the TV series, and then you go to this audible program and listen to the voices they are by no means those of the original actors and it doesn’t come close to the original tv series. The music is the same but that’s the only similar thing you will hear on this. Don’t waste your time.
