It used to be: Make good grades, get good SAT scores, write a good essay, and you were on your way to a good college. Now? Kiss that world goodbye. Merit isn’t a sure thing. Connections are everything. And money talks–a lot.

Enter Kelly Pritzker (Abbi Jacobson), a shrewd, New Jersey-based college “consultant” who isn’t above faking athletic profiles, seducing administrators, greasing palms, and juicing GPAs. When it comes to getting the under-qualified and uber-privileged into the Ivy League, Kelly’s the closest thing you’ll find to a guarantee...If you can afford her, that is.

But after an admissions scandal breaks on the West Coast, anonymous letters start appearing in Kelly’s mailbox, threatening to take down her entire operation. And when a mysterious teenager, Hadley (Whitney Peak), shows up at her door, a revelation about both of their pasts starts to upend Kelly's present…

Starring Abbi Jacobson (Broad City, A League of Their Own), Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl), Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Judy Greer (Archer), Timothy Simons (Veep), the Sklar Brothers (Dumb People Town), and written and directed by Aaron and Will Eisenberg (Comedy Central's Cursed Friends), Big Envelopes is a razor-sharp satire that delivers a peek behind the ivy curtain of the 10-billion-dollar college admissions industry.

For Kelly, getting kids into school is easy. It’s staying out of jail that’s the hard part.

Please note: This podcast is intended for adults. It contains explicit language, sexual references, and adult themes. Discretion is advised.

Story line

I couldn’t stop listening to this. Heard all episodes back to back. It’s funny and a very interesting topic of conversation. Is college really worth it…??? Million dollar question.

Funny cast and awesome story

Another great listen by Audible Original. And pretty much a true story of what goes on today and what has happened in the past with college scandals. I hope it becomes a movie it was that great. All the characters meshed so well together and it was easy to paint the whole thing in my mind. Super funny and loved it.

Hidden Gem

We need more! I was in my car looking for something to listen to while on a family road trip. While there were some mature topics this was a huge hit for the pre-teens. It felt like we were listening to a movie. From start to finish this was just top notch. The kids are asking for more stories, so please consider a series!

Perfect timing!

I saw this and knew I had to give it a try. My 17 year old daughter is a high school senior and she is in the midst of finding out what schools she has been accepted to…but now-a-days the great news often comes as box of goodies and not just a big envelope! The process has been stressful, to say the least, but this story gave me a much needed chuckle as well as a look at the seedy underbelly of the whole process! Great acting and had enough sweet and sassy moments to keep it entertaining while having a bit of realness to it. Very enjoyable!

SO much fun! Definitely recommend

I truly enjoyed Big Envelopes and think that it's highly worth anyone's time to listen. I'd love to see it become a TV series. The story is incredibly well written, and the acting in spot on. Such a relevant topic.
