Publisher's Summary

They were the best of friends and the most daunting of bachelors. Charlie Harrington, a handsome philanthropist, has such high expectations for his perfect bride that no mortal need apply. Adam Weiss, a 40-something celebrity lawyer, prefers his women very young, very voluptuous, and very short-term. And for Gray Hawk, a gifted artist with a knack for attracting troubled relationships, women are fine; it's just the idea of family he can't imagine (particularly the family of the woman he's dating).

Now the three friends, spending their annual summer vacation cruising the Mediterranean aboard Charlie's majestic yacht, are about to have their bachelorhood rocked. By autumn all three will fall precipitously into relationships they never saw coming. Charlie begins dating a crusading social worker who couldn't be further from his ideal, until he makes a stunning discovery about her. Adam gets involved with his usual 20-something bombshell, only this one has a remarkable mind of her own. And Gray, who has avoided both business and family like the plague, has managed to fall head over heels for a successful career woman, who just happens to be a mother as well.

As another holiday on the yacht approaches, and with it a turning point in each man's life, the three bachelors are forced to face the things that scare them most: their phobias about relationships, the wounds of the past, and the kind of women who challenge their deepest terrors. What happens next will spark big changes for Charlie, Adam, and Gray, and might just put an end to their carousing days forever. For as the once-carefree trio is about to discover, love is the most unpredictable adventure of all.

    "Pleasantly Surprised"
By Ella (toronto,, Ontario, Canada) Apr 5, 2006
I havent read a Steel book in years. They are usually a bit to basic and shlocky for me. However, I was tired of all the intense books I was listening to, so i thought this book sounded like a nice break and maybe even fun. Boy was I right! It was a great book. A story about 3 commitment phobic men and how they work to overcome there deep rooted issues to rise above their problems. Definately predictable, but an enjoyable journey, right to the end.
The narrator was very good too. He added dimension to the characters.
The book was filled with humor, drama and enough twists and turns to make it a very entertaining listen.

    "Fantastic!!"
By Chevonne (Anchor Point, AK, USA) May 2, 2006
LOVED IT!! I don't 'usually' have a ton of time to read books and mostly read for 10 minutes before bed...and thought I would try an audio book....OH MY GOODNESS...I found every excuse to keep listening to my ipod throughout the day as this book was interesting, exciting, entertaining and light hearted! I listened to this in just about a day! I got a ton of yard work done, housecleaning and even cleaned out the garage....all while laughing or smiling! The bachelors were an interesting trio and the women...WOW! I wish for a part 2!!!

It was typical, predictable, and uninspiring. Such a huge waste of money.

    "Scared Men"
By Margaret (palm springs, FL, USA) Sep 20, 2006
This book is just what women want to hear. A book about 3 men scared to make a comment. They do have good reason to be scared. This book is fun and has a good flow in 3 best friends life. There are some curse words but nothing to bad. You would say them by mistake if you had what was going on to you as it going on to them.
Well I hope you love this book like I did.

    "Toxic Bachelors"
By Patricia (League City, TX, USA) Jan 1, 2006
I loved this book. It was nice to have the spin put on men rather than women. I almost didn't read it because of the title. However, I found the title to be misleading. These guys turned out to be very complicated men with very complicated emotions.

    "Old Danielle Steel style"
By Lori (Latrobe, PA, USA) Dec 8, 2005
I stopped reading her a long while ago as everything became too mushy.

This one though was a winner. The stories of three men spin well and kept me listening.
