  • Practicing the Power of Now: Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises from the Power of Now
    Narrated by Eckhart Tolle
Practicing the Power of Now is a carefully arranged series of excerpts from the The Power of Now that directly gives us those exercises and keys. Return to those words, reflect on the words, reflect even on the space between the words and - maybe over time, maybe immediately - you'll discover something of life-changing significance.
  • A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose
    Narrated by Eckhart Tolle
Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.
  • The Journey Into Yourself
    Narrated by Eckhart Tolle
The theme of this four-day retreat: "It's Always Now" The Now is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. It is the prerequisite of Being. As you listen to the words on this tape, you participate in the retreat. To "retreat" means to step back - not only from the outer world, but also from the world in your head, the thinking mind. Allow the sound of the words to take you beyond words and beyond sound to the stillness within.

Publisher's Summary

To make the journey into The Power of Now you need to leave your analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. Access to the Now is everywhere - in the body, the silence, and the space all around you. These are the keys to enter a state of inner peace. They can be used to bring you into the Now, the present moment, where problems do not exist. It is here you find your joy and are able to embrace your true self. It is here you discover that you are already complete and perfect.

Although the journey is challenging, Eckhart Tolle offers simple language in a question and answer format. The words themselves are the signposts to guide you on your journey. There are new discoveries to be made along the way: you are not your mind, you can find your way out of psychological pain, authentic human power is found by surrendering to the Now. When you become fully present and accepting of what is, you open yourself to the transforming experience of The Power of Now.

    "AWE INSPIRING!"
By Ann (ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia, Canada) Jan 4, 2003
Eckhart Tolle's work, The Power of Now, is filled with wisdom, inspiration, and practical advice from beginning to end. He shows clearly how progress in the evolution of human consciousness is absolutely necessary for survival of life on this planet, and that it is up to each one of us to change our perception of the world in which we live if that progress is to take place. Tolle also shows how our tendency to dwell in the past and future obscures the present moment. In so doing, we fail to see what is necessary right now, thus we make wrong choices and decisions which lead to untold suffering for self and others. This work is a recipe for true happiness and if everyone followed the advice contained therein the world would be a happier place to live in. I have listened to it so many times now I have lost count. If I were shipwrecked on a desert island and I could take only one book, this would be it!

"A modern serving of Basic Sanity."
By Chet (Salt Lake City, UT, USA) Apr 5, 2003
As a Buddhist, I find an amazing parallel between the teachings of Tolle and the basic sanity of Buddhism. Thanks to Tolle, I now understand why the glimpses into reality that I have experienced have always faded and not lead to lasting peace - my mind incorporated them into my 'story'.

Thanks to this reminder, I feel like I am embarking on a spiritual journey that has been sidelined for a very long time by my identification with my mind and my story as it is expressed through past and future. Although much of the wisdom expressed in this book has been expressed before, at least one new concept, that of the 'Pain Body', is both new (to me) and very useful.

This book is very inspiring. After years of confusion and procrastination, Tolle's 'Power of Now' has compelled me to begin my spiritual practice 'now'.

    "Sounds to fall asleep to!"
By Barry (Macclesfield, N/A, United Kingdom) Dec 22, 2004
It's hard to believe - until you hear it...that Eckhart Tolle can write such brilliant books, but has NO IDEA how to read them out loud! His voice is dull, monotonous, sleep-invoking and downright annoying. Gaps and stops, pauses and falters...will someone please speed up the tape---give that man some Coffee!
My advice would be to buy his books and read them out loud... yourself!

My advice to Mr. Tolle would be simple...carry on writing your excellent books but please don't commit them to Audio....unless that is you can find a narrator that can do them justice.

Listen to the audio preview of ANY of his audiobooks on this site and I think you'll get the picture.

    Book content 10/10 :-)
    Audio Version 2/10 :-(

    "Now"
By Peter H. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) Apr 8, 2003
The book builds on an old view point: the past is gone, the future is coming, and all we have is now! Of course, the most important aspect of life is the current moment - it's here and now it's gone. But, shaping our future and creating our destiny, and enjoying life beyond simple pleasures is equally important It is the self-actualization of our creations, struggles, creativity, relationships, and love for all living things that brings meaning to life - not simple focus on the inner self of now. Our microscopic and macroscopic worlds are interacting but not necessary in harmony. To focus on the inner self and on now is an over simplication of the the magnificant complexity of our worlds. Personally, I have this myth that Buddish and Asian philosophy have much to offer us materialistic, capitalistic beings - but I'm sorry to say that once again the goose is without a gold egg - for now!

    "The Power of Now"
By Hugh (Shamong, NJ, United States) Oct 27, 2003
Caution: Do not listen to this book while driving. It is so bad you may fall asleep at the wheel. This book is terrible and filled with a ton of psycho-babble like, "To obtain happiness we must die before dying without really dying." C'mon are you for real? The gong that goes off in between sections is so annoying. I wish I could get my money back because I thought this was a terrible book, and it was read by the author. If you're a normal person with reasonable inteligence, do not buy this book. - John Gault, NY, NY

"Ties it all together and then some"
By Dominick (Ridgewood, NY, USA) Apr 7, 2008
For a while now, I've been educating myself on religions (Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Kabbalah, Islam, Hinduism, Sufism, etc.) and reading the works of today's most revered spiritual speakers, and after listening to this audiobook, I can honestly say Eckhart Tolle has tied it all together. His simple (yet amazingly profound)teachings and concepts allowed me to take a second look at everything I'd already learned, and do so with a deeper, more accurate understanding. There is no way that you're going to read this book and not come away with a basic understanding of how to master the mind, which is to say that you'll know when the mind is to be used, and when it's time to step away from the mind and just be. And the most amazing thing about it is, once you realize it,,you'll also realize that on some level, you've known it all along. This book is truly liberating. I've been seeking inner peace for a long time, and now I know that the key is within me, and has been there the whole time.

    "The terminator reads mumbo jumbo!"
    By I (Manchester, N/A, United Kingdom) Nov 6, 2004
I found this book really hard to listen to. THe narration sounds like Arnie S with a cold. The content was confusing to say the least. "The body is not the mind and the mind is not the body and you are not your body but you are and not the mind etc etc etc" Eh? Gave up after about 4 hours. I did think for a long time before choosing this book because of the bad reviews but decided to trust the good ones - big mistake! Ah well one mans meat and all that .......

    "Bueller...Bueller"
By Joey (san diego, CA, USA) Apr 16, 2008
I don't know what was more annoying about listening to this...the bell he used, the format in which he delivered, or his tone of voice. Who could get excited about change with such a boring voice. I had to turn it off, it was depressing me. It was like listening to someone who was bummed telling a story of how they found happiness and still sounded bummed. And if they know anything about sound, you don't use a pitch of a sound that make dogs bark.

    "waste of money"
By Harold (Lake Katrine, NY, USA) Jan 23, 2004
This was the worst mistake I ever made. What a pile of mystical caca. The whiney voice of the author didn't help any, either. Save your money or burn it, either way you'll get better value than if you buy this vapid piece of ditritis

    "Luv it!"
By Tonno (LondonUnited Kingdom) Feb 19, 2008
I love to have this audio-book on my iPod. Whenever I realize I'm getting impatient or irritated I just put my headphones on and re-connect to the ease and joy of living in less than a minute. His voice has such amazing mind/ego calming effect. Brilliant!
