Michael Watkins' best-selling book The First 90 Days has become the business bible for accelerating leadership transitions. Now, Watkins zeroes in on the most critical skill leaders must master to secure new roles and accelerate their transitions: negotiation. • Your Next Move: The Leader's Guide to Successfully Navigating Major Career Transitions
    Narrated by Sean Pratt
In Your Next Move, leadership-transition guru Michael Watkins shows how you can survive and thrive in all the major transitions you will face during your career, including promotion, on-boarding into a new organization, and making an international move. With real-life examples and case studies, he illustrates the defining hurdles associated with each type of transition.
  • Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars
    Narrated by Eric Conger
"Silos" are organizations' vertical structures, but the word has become synonymous with barriers to workplace effectiveness and connotes deep political infighting. Silos devastate organizations, kill productivity, push good people out the door, and jeopardize the achievement of corporate goals. They cause stress, exasperation, and disappointment by forcing employees to fight bloody, unwinnable battles with people who should be teammates.

    "PDFs"

In response to the prior reviewer's comments about the book's referenced PDFs not being available, he neglects to point out that at numerous points during the listening they give you the specific website to go to to obtain the PDFs.

    I received mine w/o problem.

This is a solid companion to the Leadership Pipeline(Charan -2001).

As a leadership development professional this compelling book provides primary, actionable strategies for new leaders and those transitioning in all organizations.

This is must (listen) read and re-read that all leaders need to keep in their professional library.

The Narrator is very boring. I have heard the 5th discipline, the narator tone interacts with the situation. The Narrator here is using the same tone

"Definately written more for Senior Executives"
By Stephen (Fayetteville, AR, USA) Mar 20, 2010
I am not a senior executive, thus just got a few nuggets (my desire is to get many nuggets when I purchase a book) which I value but it leaned heavily, with great detail about Sr Executives going into certain situations like: take overs, sustainability, etc.

    "Dry but Good"
By Tom (Westford, MA, USA) Sep 4, 2007
Content of the book is useful but the reader is tough to listen to. He has a monotone voice which makes it hard to pay attention. However, it's worth the pain if you haven't been through a senior level transition.
