As much as master roaster Clare Cosi adores coffee, the landmark shop she manages won't survive if she doesn't sell enough of it. So when the Village Blend's customer traffic grinds to a halt, she turns to her staff for creative ideas, and the Writer's Block Lounge is born.

Madame, the eccentric octogenarian owner of the shop, is upset by this news. Years ago, a group of accomplished writers used the shop's second-floor lounge to inspire each other, but the group disbanded when something dark occurred. Though that history is shrouded in mystery, Clare presses forward . . .

Soon the Village Blend tables are filled with aspiring novelists, playwrights, and poets, all happy to be coaxed, cajoled, and caffeinated by her coffeehouse crew. Clare admires the stamina of these scribes, many of them toiling at night jobs—driving taxis, tending bar, ushering for Broadway—while penning projects during the day.

Then one of their fictions turns fatal when a shocking secret leads to a deadly end. Unless Clare can untangle this mystery, uncover the truth, and stop a desperate killer, she fears more of these weary writers may be marked for eternal rest.

I was excited to preorder ‘No Roast for the Weary’ to be released on 4/1/25. I just finished listening to book 21 and am once again reminded how much I love Claire & the gang.
I found this series late and binge listened book 1 - book 20 without listening to other books. Grateful the series has continued.

Claire and crew of the coffeehouse have numerous problems to solve and several murders to solve. Another great story, although I wished it might have been a little shorter.

There is nothing to dislike about the cozy house mysteries. I hope they continue!!! The others were good but nothing like Madam and Claire and Matt and Mike. Please don’t stop.

Wowza! Cleo out did herself in this one. Never disappoints. I felt the pain the coffee shop felt after covid. My heart ached for them but I love the team work of ideas and never giving up. The mystery in this book was so well written it was a major roller coaster. Just when I thought I had it bam another turn lol. I always love Rebecca’s acting in these books and she didn’t disappoint in this one. Just love the emotions and voice changes she can do to keep u on the edge of your seat or laughing the entire time. Can’t wait for the next book already lol.

Great, well-written storyline(s). I've enjoyed every part of this series, and this edition was worth the wait. The narration continues to be top-notch with distinct voices and appropriate energy put into the reading. Looking forward to the next listen in the series. There seem to be many tales left to tell for this cast of characters.
