All secrets kept in the dark eventually come to light.

Being the youngest Ford sibling and the only girl out of the four of us, I feel like the bar is set high for me. My brothers have built very successful lives for themselves, and the pressure to live up to them is often too much for me to handle. But I don't tell them that. I keep my struggles to myself. I can handle everything on my own.

Until I can't . . . and the only person I can get a hold of is my brother's best friend.

Logan Bennett shows up to the rescue like a knight in shining armor. Only he isn't on a horse. He's on a motorcycle, and because he's older than me, he's completely off limits.

The problem is, I've always had a crush on him. And in one night, everything changes between us.

Adding to the long list of things I keep from my brothers won't hurt, right? It might once they find out about that last secret.

Contains mature themes.

This is the fourth and final book in the First in the City series, and Jenn McMahon has saved one of her best for last. It’s got all the swoony, feel-good romance you want but also gut-punch moments that will have you blinking away tears. The spice? Oh, it’s spicing. And the chemistry between these two is seriously off the charts. If you love a romance that makes you laugh, cry, and blush all in one sitting, this one’s for you.

The story
As the youngest—and only girl—of the Ford siblings, she’s always felt the pressure to measure up to her brothers’ successes. She hides her struggles, keeping her vulnerabilities locked away. But when everything comes crashing down, the only person she can reach is her brother’s best friend, Logan Bennett.

Logan has been her long-time crush, and while he may ride a motorcycle instead of a white horse, he shows up for her like a true hero. One night changes everything between them but with Logan being older and completely off-limits, their secret romance is a risk she’s willing to take… until it’s no longer a secret.

What I loved
✔️ The perfect mix of lighthearted and emotional moments you’ll be grinning one page and holding your breath the next.
✔️ The undeniable, electric chemistry between the leads every interaction feels charged.
✔️ Jenn McMahon’s growth as an author is so clear here. There’s more emotional depth, sharper pacing, and richer character development compared to the first book (and that one was already great!).
✔️ Some beautifully vulnerable scenes that hit hard.

What I need now
❗ Callie’s story. Seriously, Jenn don’t leave us hanging. We need that book!

🎧 Narration
Laurie West delivers another heartfelt, authentic performance, giving the FMC both strength and softness. Alex Kydd’s voice brings Logan’s confidence and warmth to life his delivery really works for this character.

Tropes
✔️ Brother’s best friend
✔️ Off-limits romance
✔️ Secret relationship
✔️ Protective hero
✔️ Emotional vulnerability
✔️ Motorcycle-riding love interest

Final thoughts
That Last Secret is a beautiful send-off to a beloved series. It’s romantic, emotional, sexy, and heartwarming all at once proof of just how much Jenn McMahon has grown with every book. And while this is a satisfying conclusion, I’ll be crossing my fingers (and maybe sending some not-so-subtle hints) for Callie’s story next.
