Acerca de esta escucha
Discover 100 deeply personal stories—covering universal experiences such as love and heartbreak, growth and resilience—brought to life by the creator of the wildly popular TikTok account @HunterProsper.
Every stranger has a story, and we’re more alike that we are different.
These are two statements that Hunter Prosper knows to be true. Hunter is an ICU nurse by trade and loves his job, where he feels honored to help people and bear witness to the full spectrum of patient’s emotions and experiences. He’s shared jokes and philosophies; heard about their first loves and deepest regrets; and sometimes, offered company for their final moments. The work taught him to love everyone around him—no matter their differences.
In 2020, everything changed. His days were consumed by keeping patients alive, many of whom spent their final moments in isolation, unable to talk. The ICU lost its humanity. When a patient close to his age passed away, Hunter reached a breaking point. He began using his phone as a diary to record his feelings and patient’s stories, and eventually stories from strangers he encountered on the street, becoming a voice for the voiceless. Over time, this turned into Stories from a Stranger, a social media project that quickly resonated with millions craving genuine human connection.
With nearly 10 million followers across platforms, Hunter has built a community deeply invested in storytelling, compassion, and the universal threads that link us all. Now, in the Stories from a Stranger book, Hunter expands upon this global phenomenon with over 100 brand-new interviews. These deeply personal stories span diverse ages, races, genders, and life experiences, exploring universal themes like love, loss, pain, and joy. From heart-pounding revelations to heart-wrenching confessions, each account reaffirms our shared humanity with raw honesty and emotional depth.
Featuring stunning photographs of the storytellers, Stories from a Stranger is more than a collection of stories—it’s a celebration of what it means to be human. Whether you’re drawn to tales of sorrow, inspiration, or resilience, this book will remind you how personal stories have the power to connect us all and strengthen the bonds we share.
