Now, Cassidy Prewitt, town baker and part-time servant of the dark force (it's a family business) has to contend with a rising army of darkness, a very frustrated town, and a very cute PI who she might just be falling for . . . and who might just be falling for her. And if they can survive their own homegrown apocalypse, they might even just find happiness together.

Queer, cozy, and with a touch of eldritch horror mixed in just for fun, this is a charming love story about a small-town baker, a quick-witted PI, and, yes, an ancient evil.

Look, I love Tanya Huff. I think she writes hilarious books and occupies a world I mostly want to live in. Her heroes are good, occasionally complacent, and ridiculously competent. This fits into exactly that mode, and so if you’re a fan of the Gales or Tony Foster, you’ll feel right at home. I know I’ll be back for this again

A perfect summer get away to the most romantic place in northern Ontario

I finished this book several weeks ago, and I’m still mad about it. A really great premise ruined by lazy storytelling and poor character development.

Really cute and unique. Would definitely make a great series. Lots of fun characters with an interesting setting. Takes a while to get going but picks up pace eventually.

I loved this book. It reminded me just a bit of all my favorite things about The Enchantment Emporium. It had me hooked and staying awake far too long finishing it. The voice actor did a wonderful job. I want a sequel!

This is a wonderfully Canadian, whacky, well written, cozy, and charming story, read skillfully. The characters are quirky but loveable.

Zany and sweet

Often cosy supernatural falls over because the environment is a little too cosy. Tanya Huff strikes a fantastic balance here. I loved the Flock and their silver needles and bridget...just all of Bridget, she was awesome.

Charming with a little bit of bite
