Tucked away in the foothills, surrounded by pine forests, loaded with kids who still play outside, Millwood is the small town everyone knows. The local deputies grapple with petty vandalism and local drunks. The local teachers know the name of every kid in town. For Heather Bradley, it's a place that keeps her family safe and their lives in order; her biggest worries are the daily grind of her job and the kids coming home late. She doesn't know that unfathomable forces are set to converge on her town and thrust their neat lives into darkness, but when her oldest son Stuart opens a one-sided door in the woods and a black cloud pours out, the Bradleys and their whole town find themselves locked in a desperate struggle for survival. As the chaos grows and the nature of the real threat emerges, the only question becomes whether or not come morning the town will exist at all.

At its core the story is decent but the long monotonous tangents made it hard to enjoy. I can tell the author was trying to paint a picture with words but it was just too much and I would lose interest. I did finish it and it wrapped up well.

A little wordy

I did not enjoy this book. I felt the majority of scenes in the book went on far too long and got to be very rambling. There were a few good parts toward the end. The narrator often put pauses in the wrong place, making it even harder to follow.
I think the premise of the story is very good, it was just not executed well.

The narrator’s reading style is choppy. Which is almost as annoying as how half of this book is characters who are going nowhere before dying -simply not having the words to describe the dark cloud descending on them. A huge part of this book is indeed irrelevant characters describing a thing they have no words for. And then, there is a deus ex machina moment followed by the worst cliche of genre.

Annoying narrator, disjointing story

well in short first half of the book was awesome it was a great buildup The story that performance execution the character building The second half up until about the last hour it kind of started getting dragged out as of the author lost focus so to speak and then the last 5 minutes the author totally unwound his entire story over he he tanked it He unravelled and diminished what it could have been, all that story built up to end less than 5 min to destroy what was a decent story. I hate writing negative reviews. I only do it this time in hopes the author takes it as constructive criticism cuz I think he has good talent true talent You just got to work on that finishing game.

The description of "The Visitor" and all of the other characters is wonderful, which is no surprise. Andrew Najberg does an awesome job of describing everything. The Mobius Door is a definitely a good read/listen.

I've read reviews that were critical of the narration but I thought the narrator did an overall good job and he didn't do anything that took me out of the story.

I thought the premise of the story was interesting but the story itself was a bit too scattered to follow and I lost interest several times. The main gripe is that there are too many characters packed into this relatively short story and there isn't much there to help the listener/reader create a mental picture of the persons described. I tend to like at bit more physical descriptions and personality details of characters when they are introduced to help with picturing them mentally. The perspective of thr story changes so much that it is very hard to follow who is who and what is happening at any given moment.

The story is bleak, and not in particularly satisfying way deals with fantastical concepts that leave too many questions with no satisfying hint at answers.

There is evident talent in the author's ability to tell a story but this one could have used a bit more editing and development in my opinion.

Overall, just not my cup of tea but not also not terrible.

interesting concept

Fun story where a town comes under attack from the darkness on the other side of a door that shouldn’t be there. Exactly what it says on the tin and more.

Grade A fast paced horror!

Andrew Najberg has done it again with this great book. in my opinion, this book was even better than the last one I read, Golitok.

One of the things I really enjoyed about this book is getting to know all the many characters in this small town. It almost had the slice of life that is often so present in Stephen King books.

Speaking of King, the premise of this book almost reminds me of the book The Drawing of the Three.

When a young boy, Stewart, finds a door in the forest, he contemplates opening it. He discovers that both sides of the door are the same side, but when he leaves it open, something comes crawling out.

connection. Not much said of the father. I was confused at times.

Pretty convoluted

The story seems fine but is overwhelmed by the reader. Narration is great until the dialogue. Everyone sounds like a sarcastic looney tunes animation. It ruins the mood and overwhelms the story.
