Publisher's summary

WITCH, WEREWOLF, AND WORLD SAVIOR.

IT'S A LOT FOR ONE GIRL TO SHOULDER.

Tamara Bentley thought rescuing her parents from the fairy queen would be enough—that she could go back to college and resume her life. Pity for her that reality has other plans, especially since it's on the verge of collapsing.

Demonic entities are destroying the portals linking Earth to the multiverse. When the last one falls, all life as we know it will end. Sadly, with each connection severed, the supernatural beings of our world grow weaker. As their power fades, so too does their chances of stopping this cataclysm once and for all.

Tamara will need to muster both her strength and burgeoning magic to make one last stand, but it won't be easy. The forces marshaled against her grow stronger with each passing day. If even an army of witches and werewolves can't defeat them, what hope does one girl have against an unstoppable tide of evil?

Her parents are more enemy than anyone else

this series would be a lot better if the parents weren’t there. Seriously, they have done more harm than good in the series and no one calls them on BS. The mother is power tipping so hard and this takes up 90% of the book dealing with it. Overall I like the book and hope the next book has more of a story then parents put up roadblocks.

Fun and entertaining

I appreciate the full cast of family members instead of the orphan or estranged route many stories use to push adventure forward. The dynamics and relationships add to the character's 'smart but inexperienced' vibe; seemingly petty frustrations can lead to some pretty chaotic life-defining choices at that age.

It's fun, entertaining, hit a few generational tickle spots that made me grin widely, and it all flows easily. The 4 book listen went by quickly! No slowing down or stringing the story along for filler.

Bent is a snarky but still caring protagonist, and I love that I don't know the breast size of every female character.

This is a Good One

Gualtieri hits his stride again in the fourth book in the series. Bent is charged with saving the multiverse by the goddess of the witches while her parents (one a werewolf and one a witch) weirdly worry that she should ignore her mother’s goddess’ commands and go to college instead. Because you know, that college degree is really going to matter after the multiverse ends. Sometimes I think that Gualtieri forgets what’s actually going on in his own books.

That being said, this book is packed with good action, wonderfully malicious betrayals, great tension building side plots, and a very credible end of the world scenario. The death count is also high as the entire supporting cast is in danger and not all of them survive until the end. My favorite character in the series buys the farm (so to speak) and as unhappy as I was about it, it was well done and served the plot well.

I was under the impression that the series was done with this one, but it’s obviously only done until Gualtieri writes the next book. That being said, it could have been a series ender. It would have made a great finale.

Such a Great Story

So much fun/excitement/action and worth the wait! Extremely happy that there’s not a cliffhanger like last time…there’s still a cliffhanger but it’s not like last time. Last time made me want to rage but this one left me content to wait for Rick to take his time writing. I’d still appreciate it if you wrote faster, Rick, but this time, I can wait.

I love this entire storyline

I was so happy to see a new addition to one of my favorite series pop up. I was thrilled with the story. One thing that bugs me a bit in ANY book is having the characters IQ dropped off a cliff in order to progress the story then it bounces back up beyond reason and I feel like that happened more often than I would’ve liked. Several times she should’ve easily seen a solution but instead hammered on the fact that she couldn’t see it. Then she seems to know all and see all. She can’t be clever quick and powerful then dense weak and confused the next minute. Sorry it might sound like I didn’t love it but I did. I just wonder sometimes if authors don’t realize how obvious some things should be to their characters or if it’s a sacrifice they knowingly make in order to end up where they want to end up. Either way it is another fun one. Thanks Rick!! One of my favorite authors.

Bent will kick your #&&!

Another great story in the series. Fun introduction of a couple of new characters. Good narration and easy to listen to.
Best of all, Bent is bad, and is taking no guff

Clueless hero, when will the light go on?

A good story, but the author really enjoys dragging things out. It makes the hero seem like a clueless moron. She watches her friends be slaughtered because she's a coward. It offers an insight to the authors persona.
