A SWORD . . .

In the impoverished outer town of a kingdom where fae outrank humans, Faythe, an orphan with a talent for swordplay, knows the importance of keeping her head down around the fae patrol. She and best friend Jakon long for a better life, and her desire to swing her sword in combat may bring the purpose and coin she's yearned for.

A DREAM . . .

When she draws the attention of royal guard Nik, she soon learns that her mortal nature isn't the only reason to remain out of sight. Nik is a Nightwalker, a silent assassin of the mind with the power to enter others' dreams, and whether she trusts him or not, he's about to awaken abilities in Faythe that shouldn't exist in a human. Nightmarish abilities. Deadly abilities. Abilities that will teach Faythe blood really does run thicker than water . . . and if she doesn't trust in higher powers soon, blood will run indeed.

AN HEIR . . .

For this is no battle Faythe can fight with steel. Within the city walls, suspicions are arising, and here in the outer town she has deeper bonds to protect. It seems everyone will die with a dark secret to tell, but what if one unlikely human girl was born harboring the darkest secret of all . . . ?

Basic Human Becomes More

I enjoyed listening to this book and thought the narrator did a wonderful job at telling the story. Unfortunately, I thought the story fell flat. Though intriguing in its premise, most things that happen are predictable. I also didn’t come away with this with the need to continue on to the next books to find out what happens. I will finish the series, but I’m not in a rush to finish as this story just fell flat for me.

The Narration

Everything about it was amazing! The heartbreak that Faythe felt from realizing that Nick was the king’s daughter, and the way the author was able to write how everyone was feeling and treated. This was well done, thank you so much!

Enjoyed but..

I really thought Faythe and Nick would be together, however, maybe there’s a turn of events in the next book?

Love this story!

I stumbled upon this story while looking for a two for one package to use, and couldn’t be more delighted. The story is compelling, the performance is wonderful, and I enjoyed every bit of it. I hope there’s a sequel!

Throne of Glass?

I really read this book because I love Sarah Evans, and perhaps that is one of the reasons it reminded me so much of Throne of glass but it almost reads like fan fiction as the story goes on, it becomes more and more reminiscent of Sara J mass. It’s pretty good, and I have high hopes for the next one.

Absolutely entranced!

I just realized I never reviewed this book. So here we go! I found this series by searching for the queen of narration, Elizabeth Evans, and I was absolutely struck by how much I enjoyed this book! Strong FMC with an interesting storyline, found fam, and lots of adventuring. After reading other series as well as more of this series, this one has the tropes you love but in a uniquely dynamic way only Chloe can give us! I cannot wait to continue reading about these characters as there are more books promised!!! Enjoy this epic fantasy!

ELIZABETH EVANS is my hero

I literally began this book because she's reading it.
it's big on Bookstagram and booktok, so... I was suspicious at first, I was let down and mislead many many times 😅

but it's not that bad. It's not an original story, but even mixing other existing plots must be made with a certain capacity...

I'll physically read the next books, because the narrator changed... Let's see

Hmmm

This book was a set up for the rest I’m hoping . This book is not bad by any stretch but we are hovering on the line of full break through or meh. I love the characters, I love the romance and I love me some Elizabeth Evans. I haven’t heard one book I haven’t liked her reading. I just am hopeful that we get more answers and more action.

Good read

The characters are likable and relatable. As the story unfolds it definitely gives a more expedited TOG feel.
