Explore the unbelievable true story of America's glowing girls and their fight for justice in the young readers edition of the New York Times and USA Today bestseller The Radium Girls.

Amid the excitement of the early twentieth century, hundreds of young women spend their days hard at work painting watch dials with glow-in-the-dark radium paint. The painters consider themselves lucky—until they start suffering from a mysterious illness. As the corporations try to cover up a shocking secret, these shining girls suddenly find themselves at the center of a deadly scandal.

The Radium Girls: Young Readers Edition tells the unbelievable true story of these incredible women, whose determination to fight back saved countless lives.

Absolutely terrifying book telling the story of corporate greed killing girls in their twenties without warning. It goes to show how unsafe work practices are truly deadly even in ways you could not imagine. This book is a little bit gorey in the descriptive writings of the girls' conditions, however that is what makes it so compelling to me. The horror and fear is what puts you into the girls' shoes, making the book incredibly meaningful. 10/10, would definitely read again.

The most horrifying, gut-wrenching, yet amazing book I've ever read

I did not dislike anything and thought it was beautifully written and powerful. It was a very strong and a little scary topic.

I'm so glad that someone wrote a book to commemorate the courageous struggle the Radium Girls had to endure to battle the occupational hazards of working for a big money company.
